Went to the store today to look at a couple of princess cut stones for earrings...

They are IGI Certified/Graded and this info is coming from the cards. There is also a stome image inside the card that shows (in red) the stones inclusions

These were presented to me:

Shape: Square Mod Brill Cut
.70 Princess Cut
Color F
Clarity SI1
Size 4.83 x 4.61 x 3.36 MM.

Shape: Square Mod Brill Cut
.71 Princess Cut
Color F
Clarity SI1
Size 4.73 x 4.72 x 3.53 MM.

Are these good quality stones for earrings? I have cards with price on them & an IGI cert number--is 3K a good price for these?? (That''s out the door with taxes)

Am I leaving off some information that is needed? I continue to get TONS of views but few comments and don''t understand why

How about the table and depth? The first stone seems a bit deep, and one is a perfect square and the other isn''t. Do they look like a good match side by side?

Honestly, you don''t really have a choice because they have a no returns policy, right? So if the stones look pretty to you and you have $3k to spend, you might as well take the deal and enjoy your earrings. The only other option would be to get really upset about the first pair not appraising for anywhere close to what they claimed and demand a refund. They might say no, but they might say yes . . .

Well, I guess I''ll dive in here. The reason you''re getting views but no responses is because we can''t tell anything about these diamonds based on the small amount of information you''ve provided. IGI is not a respected lab on here; most people want to see AGS or GIA reports. IGI may or may not be accurate on color and clarity. Also, princess cuts have to be seen in person to judge what they look like; we can''t tell by the dimensions you posted whether these are well-cut stones or not. If it were me, and I were getting princess cut stones of that size, I would want to make sure they''re cut well. Well-cut stones will probably end up costing you more in the end, but I think it''s worth it. You will have to decide if you think it''s worth it.
