I think I can see black spots between 3 and 5 o''clock on the 40x 0.6ct G Sparks. I can''t load up the AGS report for some reason though to look at the plot
29.gif

*EDIT*
Ok figured that one out. There is nothing on the AGS plot that would match up to the black spots I see and I don''t see how they could have missed the marks I''m seeing Sparks. Wouldn''t hurt to ask some questions though if you go any further with that one. I haven''t noticed marks like that on other 40x I have looked at on WF.
You''re right, Pieface! Thanks! I think you''re on to something. I will check with them in the morning and report back in.

I vote for the bigger G, of course. Bigger is always better in my book! (Provided it''s as well cut, of course!) And a .6 G ACA will look as white as can be!
Thanks Thing2of2 ... How could I not pay attention to your suggestion with that adorable cat in your avatar.

I''m still undecided but think that I am going to go to bed and sleep on it.

Does anyone see inclusions in the 40x mag in that G stone? Is it just me? Is it an hallucination b/c I''m not out of my Advil Cold and Sinus filled mind?

It looks like there are some tiny ones on the bottom right of the diamond. However, you should just have them check if it''s eyeclean. 40x is a lot of magnification and if that baby is eyeclean, I would snap it right up!

P.S. Thanks for the compliment of my baby! That''s Olivia, my beautiful kitty who is basically my child! She''s laying in a shoe box to be extra special cute. Yes, as a matter of fact, I am a crazy cat lady!
9.gif

ETA: Hope you feel better soon! I bet getting a diamond that isn''t chipped
8.gif
will help!
You just give Ms. Olivia Kitty a big ear and under the chin scratch for me. I had a baby - Cuddles. I know how it feels. They are just such sweethearts with so much personality.
9.gif

I will be checking first thing in the morning. Thanks so much for your help!

Did you find a diamond??
2.gif
Hiya Skippy ... thanks for asking. Are you always so considerate and thoughtful?
12.gif

Yes, I think I have found a diamond. I am not yet 100% certain b/c last time I was certain ... the diamond chipped when it was being set.
6.gif

Anyways, here''s what happened today. I spoke with Traci and decided to go with the .56 F SI1 ACA. She assured me that it was eye-clean and that''s all I wanted to hear. I was okay with it b/c it was the closest one, in my estimation, to the one that I had initially selected. I thought everything was tickety-boo but then Traci informed me that I would be paying the same price that I had paid for the other stone.
33.gif

The first diamond was .53 (I think) D VS2 and was going for $1910 or something like that. This .56 F SI1 was like $18xx ... I had gotten a discount on the first one for PS membership or something so I thought that this would apply to the replacement as well. Apparently for one reason or another ... some diamonds can be discounted more than others. This didn''t sit that well with me because even though I realize it was not the case, I just felt as though I was being ripped off. Through no fault of my own, I had to replace what I had initially selected. The replacement, since no like kind was available, was 2 color grades down and 1 clarity grade down and started out being a lesser price than the one I initially selected so I could not wrap my mind around why I would be paying the same price for both diamonds. I just thought it was logical that I would receive credit for the difference b/n the two prices.

I expressed my concerns to Traci and she was receptive, understanding and patient!
36.gif
Thank goodness especially seeing as I have been doped up on sinus meds and I haven''t been the easiest person to understand.
40.gif
Traci took my concern away and immediately started working on a resolution instead of reiterating the problem and not fixing it. She called me back a little while later and let me know that she found a replacement for me. I don''t know how she did it but ....

....

She found me a .52 D VS2 replacement
9.gif
36.gif
It is an AGS000 graded stone with the following specs:

61.5 Depth
56% Table
34.6 Crown angle
40.8 Pavilion angle

It scores well on the HCA and falls right within the AGS Ideal and GIA Excellent ranges. Exactly what I wanted and right in alignment with what I had initially selected.

I couldn''t be more pleased. I''m happy that my mom will hopefully be getting what I had initially intended on her receiving and I am delighted that Whiteflash and Traci rose to the challenge and were determined to see that I was happy with the purchase and, in doing so, have demonstrated their willingness to enact customer service excellence.

My diamond is supposed to be coming in tomorrow ... Yes, I am a little apprehensive since I have not had the opportunity to examine it by way of the cert, sarin, idealscope, aset reports/images and 40x mag pic as I have the others I was interested in, however, I am putting my trust in Traci and am confident that the stone will be beautiful and she will pull through for me.

The stone will be set and the parcel will leave on either Thursday or Friday, I believe for delivery on Friday or Saturday (I forget). This is perfect timing as I will have to pick it up on Saturday just in time to leave for Miami for Christmas where I will be with my family and will give it to my mom.

Phew! It''s been a rough day with all the back and forth, however, fingers crossed, it will be smooth sailing from here.

I know this is a long post so, if you''ve read it ... Thanks for being interested in the update and for your encouragement and assistance with searching for alternatives!

Pieface - I''m so sorry for the delay ... It''s been one of those days!
14.gif

Let''s just say that it ended with my friends kid crawling under the dinner table, at a restaurant !!! and pooping in her pull ups. Mom didn''t have a replacement diaper
33.gif
33.gif
so to top the evening off, she piddled on the restaurant chair just before we left. Marking her territory? I don''t know!??

One the way home, I stopped at the drugstore and loaded up on Advil. I couldn''t get the strange ringing from the children screaming out of my ears ... Anyhoo. ... Back to my safe place - diamonds.
9.gif

I just posted a huge diatribe of biblical proportions detailing what''s going on with the diamond.

By the way ... Thanks for your support and for really trying to help me find a replacement. We are strangers and I really appreciate you and everyone else who extended themselves to lend a helping hand or just to encourage.

Hope you enjoy the update ... or at least I hope you make it through to the end.

Goodo Sparks! Sounds like it is working out. Make sure you sneek a few shots of the ring onto the boards at some point

Thanks Skippy! I can''t wait to get it. Just confirmed that it is actually coming in tomorrow to Whiteflash and then being shipped on Friday for Saturday delivery.

My sinus issue appears to have subsided but thank you so much for checking up on me. You are a sweetie!

Glad you got it straightened out, Spark! That situation would make me
29.gif
, too, but it sounds like WF made you happy in the end and that''s all that matters! I can''t wait to see pics! We get pics, right?!!! And a blow by blow account of how much your mom loved it and cried and told you you''re her favorite child and all that?

Absolutely! Traci has been fantastic about trying to get this straightened out for me.
36.gif

You will most certainly get a blow by blow about how it goes with my mom. I really hope she loves it. I''m getting kind of nervous now.

Speaking of pics ... I just got some in from Traci today! Yay! The diamond looks gorgeous. I''ll post the pics of the Idealscope image & the 40x mag & the sarin report ... just because I like looking at them.

Sparkalicious,

The stone sure is a looker
30.gif
! You are so sweet to do this for your Mom.

I was cranky on your behalf with what went before with WF, but I hoped they would make you happy and am delighted they did.

I am sorry the stone cracked, but it is how we deal with things when the $hit hits the fan that counts and Traci ''did good'' - well done to you for not giving up too!

As steel says you really see the quality of people you deal with when things go wrong. Well done WF!

The diamond looks beautiful I''m sure there is gonna be a smile on a certain someone come xmas day that you can''t wipe off!

Thanks so much, Steel! Traci really did do well. Although it''s been kind of stressful on my end given a bit of a time crunch etc, Traci and Whiteflash have "been all over it" thus there has been minimal impact on my end. My baby or ... my mom''s baby ... to be more accurate should be set tomorrow and shipped out so I can pick it up in Seattle on Saturday just in time to head out of town for the holidays.
36.gif

It''s funny b/c I think I''m even more excited about my mom''s diamond than I am about my own right now. My bf and I are going to visit my diamond on Saturday as my setting is now ready and the jeweller would like me to see the end product before they set the diamond. She''s sent pics of the setting
30.gif
but I haven''t seen it in real life yet. You would think I would be beside myself but nope ... I can''t wait to get that hot little Fedex package in my hands and see the diamond from Whiteflash ... maybe after that I can get excited about going to visit my diamond and see my lovely setting for the first time!

Absolutely! I know many a vendor that would not have handled this situation as well and would have lost any potential future business instead of stepping up to the plate and offering customer service excellence. Yay Traci and everyone else at Whiteflash who took care of me and this beautiful little diamond.
35.gif

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I will give you the full scoop after Christmas. I hope she has a story worthy reaction.

Sparkalicious,

I am so glad everything worked out for you. Kudos to Traci and WF for making it right. Christmas is such a stressful time for all of us (and especially at WF I imagine as well), it just makes it extra special when someone goes out of their way for you. What a relief that everything is working out! Pack some tissues in there with that rock cause tears of joy are gonna flow! Congrats!

I''m so glad that everything seems to be working out as well. I should be recving pics soon!
I was so excited to see that you got your 5 stone ring from WF ... It looks beautiful!

Thanks for the tissue tip! Good idea!

Alright ... It''s done. I should be recving the ring tomorrow.
Traci sent me pics & I thought I would just post for those who wanted to see.
Yay! It''s simple & pretty.

Its beautiful. Very elegant, and a lovely stone! Congrats!!! And have a very safe holiday. What a great mom to have raised such a thoughtful and generous daughter. You are going to have a wonderful holiday!!

I got the ring today, as Whiteflash promised. It is beautiful! I''ve been Christmas shopping all day and I have had tons of fun asking people at "maul" stores how much I should have paid etc. Needless to say they are all blown away!
I''m so pleased. My mom has to love it!
9.gif

Spark, it turned out beautifully!
36.gif

I really wish I could see the look on her face when she opens it.
5.gif
Can''t wait to hear about her reaction!

You are such a good daughter.
2.gif

Hi Everyone!

Just checking in with an update ... She LOVED it!
30.gif
30.gif

Yes, yes, there were a few tears and a big smile!
9.gif
I even teared up a little bit. I cannot believe the beauty of this diamond. It sparkles like crazy! I''m really happy that I got it for her and that she loves it so much.

I''m so pleased with Whiteflash as well. I would never ever have imagined that you could find such a beautiful diamond online before. I''m fully converted and can''t wait to make my next Whiteflash purchase and as if that isn''t good enough, I''m trying to enable friends and family as well so that I can live vicariously through them.
25.gif

Thank you everyone for your encouragement and interest in my story. I will post pics as soon as I can ... probably some time in January when I get back home if I can''t get to it on our vacation. By the way ... It''s nice and warm here in Miami for anyone who is from a cold and dreary place like me ...
