By way of an update, Blue Nile are going to confirm shortly whether they are prepared to price match (with a quick delivery date) for no additional cost compared to the original diamond the following diamond -

I should be grateful for any comments!

They also said that the stone very kindly suggested by @tyty333 https://www.bluenile.com/uk/diamond-details/LD13859047 might have supply issues too...

This is all becoming quite stressful :eek-2:

Many thanks all.

I don’t think you could do much better than that diamond that @tyty333 suggested. It’s pretty perfect. Even of they don’t price match it would be worth the extra cash IMHO! :kiss2: If it’s available that is...

Thanks @daisygrl! It makes sense to me and you have some beautiful diamonds to prove it!

What do you all think of this one? Perhaps they could pricematch?

Hi istase2000, thank you for this - it looks beautiful indeed and in D colour so girlfriend certainly can't complain about colour lol.

I spoke to Blue Nile and essentially they said "NO! No to price matching and no in terms of potential supplier issues." They have given the given the green light for a price match for this diamond - https://www.bluenile.com/uk/diamond-details/LD13346151 supposedly it is from a "reliable" supplier - whatever that means??

I don't know what to do now - eek! Shall I accept it even though @daisygrl says its a bit deep?

The one they are offering is certainly within the ideal proportions. Can they provide another photo of it? @flyingpig what are your thoughts?

62.3 is the deepest that's usually recommended. It faces up a tiny bit smaller than the one you originally picked. I don't think it's noticeable though.

Thanks istase2000, I have asked Blue Nile for another photo but they do not have anything else. Been told to decide - decisions? Eek!

You will not be able to see that difference in the mm size in my view. I don't think the stone with larger dimensions would appear larger visually in person.

It is alright, a bit too deep for my taste.

In G color, I like these:

Personally if it were me I'd be aiming for something like these two that daisygrl posted in terms of cut. They just look beautiful.

However, the one they offered you isn't bad but to me the arrows don't look perfectly aligned. I guess it depends on your priorities and how perfect you wan it. Would you want to restart the search?

UPDATE: Thank you very much for everyone’s help! Here we are - the finished ring! It arrived yesterday :)

After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing with Blue Nile, they could only deliver the diamond they suggested on time - the diamonds suggested by you guys were either not available, sold, supply issues etc. So I was essentially forced to stick with the diamond they suggested - 0.57ct, VS1, G.

I think I am happy with it but obviously I should be grateful for your expert opinion/review of the finished product. If I do need to return it, I have 30 days to do so.

PS: apologies for the bad photos.

Congratulations! it looks really white and clean! Your stone is really within ideal proportions - I actually prefer it over the original one you picked as it has a higher crown :)
I would love to see the arrows clearer - have you tried a toilet paper roll/post it note rolled into a cylinder? :)

Thank you so much istase2000! It has definitely been a journey - of course grateful for your help!

Excuse my poor photography skills (I am not quite sure whether these photo captures the arrows). I have tried to take some photos in toilet paper roll, lined paper and post-it note (happy to take some further pictures if I am mistaken).

May I ask which setting you got?

Hi istase2000, the setting is the classic six prong setting.

I wanted the knife edge six prong setting but they are not taking any orders.

It looks great! I thought it was the petite noveau because it looks quite delicate. She will love it - good luck!
