Somebody should buy this lol

oh this is cool! I don't know how it would look like in person but to my inexperienced eye in the video it looks cool.

What would that cut be - it doesn't really look like the MRB pics/vids you see more commonly online?

Beautiful. How did you have it set ?

I haven't had it set yet, and it's been about a year. He's had some amazing diamonds at fantastic prices, so I've been buying, buying, and buying. He still has the stone. At present he's working on 4 ctw OEC studs for me.

If anyone has any ideas for the cushion, please tell me. I was thinking pendant because the facet pattern is so pretty that it has to be shown off.

I am not good at H&A. I think this a good weird stone, but it could be a bad cut H&A? I am interested to know how you think.

It’s definitely quirky with the not-so-straight arrows.

VSBF with a big spessartite inclusion right on the table? Yes PLEASE. (Reposted because this was always meant to be in this delight of a thread.)

I'm a little annoyed with myself for posting here, bumping this oldish thread (though, of course, not sorry for reminding people there are a lot of fun diamonds in this world that don't "meet parameters" ;-) ). I wanted to put it in the "odd/unusual mined diamonds" thread, but after 15 minutes on the search tool, I couldn't find it!

Anyway: look at this cool diamond. It has a big ol' spessartite (?) crystal right on the table, AND VSBF, and it's an F. It's even niftier in the video, but in the still, the crystal is around 11 o'clock.

I've seen The Grownups on this forum refer to orange-ish inclusions as spessartite because they do grow in the same places! Here's Garry's really informed take, which I think is a quote from a friend/colleague of his:
The brownish-pink inclusions, presumably pyrope garnets which are frequently associated diamond-indicator minerals & occasionally known to be included in diamond crystals of course, are also not displaying any birefringence (so probably are not something else like zircon for instance, altho their crystal shapes look distinctly elongated & much more like tetragonal, consistent with zircon for instance, than isometric like pyropes) & are also not fluorescent to 405nm.
I can't tell if this is orange enough to be spessartite vs pyrope, or if the distinction is purely an academic one but this was why I thought spess!

This one is so odd to me. It's a really... colorful K
It's also a really... busy VVS1
The internal graining is so intense and radial that I almost think I really like it... or hate it. I can't tell.

The diamond was driving down the road when a cat jumped out of the bushes and the diamond had to slam on the brakes. Skid marks.
