I have lurked on PS for over a year and finally have decided its time to share my dream creation that was recently completed. It's an unheated GIA certed 4.68 ct orange sapphire with two emerald cut side diamonds. The basket is rose gold while the rest is white. I am in LOVE with it. Enjoy!
The sapphire was one of John Tollivar's. I had pined over it for months before I broke down during one of his big sales and with a small amount of additional negotiation, it was mine. Asschers cuts are my favorite, but I found the emerald cut diamonds at a bargain price on eBay so I custom designed my mounting around them with my local jeweler. He is fabulous! When the company that cast the mount chipped one of my emeralds, I was crushed. They ended up making good on it though even though it took forever! The side diamonds are VS1 F and VS2 D. One is .41 ct and the other .48 ct, but deeper so face up they look real close. I will post more pics later when I have more time. Thank you for the kind comments. I am an avid collector and amateur design freak!
Thanks VirginiaZee and Rosebloom. The color and stone are even more impressive in person. I describe it as orange sherbet, but it glows from within. Haunting is a wonderful description
Orange sherbet looks like the perfect description. Kudos to you for finding the original sides on ebay. I love how you have white gold prongs for the diamonds and the rose gold for the sapphire. More pictures, pretty please? Maybe on your hand but farther away?
+1! That's the icing on the cake here. Those muscular prongs with the channel down the middle are a very nice touch, as well. It's like the perfect frame for a great painting.
