UG at beginning of EGL report number ???

The EGL USA report number for my diamond says US UGxxxxxxxxx It has UG then nine numbers. Does anyone know what the UG means? I''ve spoken with a jeweler who says he''s seen 3 of these recently but doesn''t know what they mean. I''ve had the ring the diamond is in since 2001. I went onto the EGL website to try to look at the report for this ring since all I have is the little package the loose diamond came in and the website isn''t cooperating because of the weird number. Thanks.

Sorry, don''t know - but there is EGL and EGL USA.
Totally seperate org''s
If the report is EGL without USA then prepare to be very afraid.

I did some research and unfortunately had no luck, the numbers and format don''t seem to match the info I have concerning the EGL labs and their various prefixes except for the US denoting USA, it might be best to contact EGL and ask them by telephone if the search function won''t cooperate.
