Oh I love the sleepy mahenge and it looks familiar... pls post more pics when you get some sunlight!
Looking at your profile pic, I can understand why the sapphire is too small. Personally I try not to get stuff below 3 carats nowadays. I have man hands so that doesn’t help at all
I live in the Middle East - my rings are small out here - most reach down to the knuckle LOL!!
I could halo the hell out of it - but it’s such an incredible stone I feel like it should be in someone’s engagement ring - someone with little fingers or am gently more refined taste than me!
Definitely would need more sapphire in the design to bulk it up a bit. Will have to muse on it.
Going to set the spinel in a lotus inspired setting a bit like the Leon but with these little 1.8m bixbite around the very outside in between the petals.
I agree the sapphire is too small, but only because it's the perfect color to go in a toi et moi with the spinel, if only it were the same size as your spinel!

I vehemently veto the bixbite. Having had untreated bixbite of my own, I know that it's similar to emerald in that it glows but does not sparkle. I think given that your spinel is sleepy and doesn't sparkle on its own, it would be made more stunning by sparkling side stones with higher color contrast!
I just needed an oval diamond the same size as the sapphire and I’d have had the perfect American dream three stone - red white and blue! Would have been timely
Can’t wait to see how it turns out! The gems are exquisite in their colors.
And if I may commend you also for always so freely sharing your vendor sources so that others can purchase and enjoy as well! Rarely a few folks on PS tend to hoard their sources all for themselves (I understand completely that while most folks may not want to reveal the source/vendor while one is actively purchasing in case someone else “nabs“ it from under them, but a few instances of members continuing not to share vendor info even after a purchase despite others politely inquiring makes me quite sad and just reeks of selfishness IMHO.). It’s so nice of you to share, as it should be on an educational and consumer oriented forum where the name of the game is that we all help each other out and enjoy together our shared passion for jewelry. So a big thank you to you for sharing!
