Not a tweet, but another WTF moment from the Trump administration. Reason number 100000000 why Carson is a complete idiot.

As part of his first address as leader of Housing and Urban Development, Dr. Ben Carson spoke about America being a nation of immigrants, saying "they work not for themselves," but for their families.

Carson also referred to Africans brought to American plantations by force as "immigrants who came in the bottom of slave ships."

"There were other immigrants who came in the bottom of slave ships, who worked even longer, even harder, for less. But they too had a dream that one day their sons, daughters, grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons, great-granddaughters might pursue prosperity and happiness in this land," Carson said.

When I read the first part of the quote I thought, "oh, good for Carson. He's being sane for once". Then he kept talking and I realized that I had given him too much credit. I'm sure slaves would be fascinated to know that their forced travel to America was just like immigrants. That's super.

The sad thing is that it feels like it's been a million years since the Biden memes. The current administration is exhausting; it seems like a damn miracle if they can get through one day without doing something stupid, possibly illegal, or just obnoxious.

The proposed replacement for the ACA has eliminated Medicaid/Title XIX based on income from the new bill. That will cut a good number of humans off the rolls. The Republicans can be proud.

"Republicans hope to undo other major parts of President Barack Obama’s signature domestic achievement, including income-based tax credits that help millions of Americans buy insurance, taxes on people with high incomes and the penalty for people who do not have health coverage.

Medicaid recipients’ open-ended entitlement to health care would be replaced by a per-person allotment to the states. And people with pre-existing medical conditions would face new uncertainties in a more deregulated insurance market.

The bill would also cut off federal funds to Planned Parenthood clinics through Medicaid and other government programs for one year.

'Obamacare is a sinking ship, and the legislation introduced today will rescue people from the mistakes of the past,' said Representative Kevin McCarthy of California, the majority leader.

Democrats denounced the effort as a cruel attempt to strip Americans of their health care.

'Republicans will force tens of millions of families to pay more for worse coverage — and push millions of Americans off of health coverage entirely,' said Representative Nancy Pelosi of California, the Democratic leader."
