Best wishes to them.

wow, what else is 2020 going to throw at us.
Prayers outgoing.

This is why social distancing, hand sanitizer and wearing a mask matters, this virus is very easily spread. The aide who first become ill was just in their company not coughing and sneezing all over them or sharing drinks, straws, water bottle, food etc.

i imangine as far a helicopters go Marine one is a generouse size ...but its still a helicopter

Nooooooo waaaaayyyyy. I just can’t believe it and thoughts and prayers are outgoing.

We are all vulnerable. No matter one's political affiliation, one's financial status, one's position in life, etc. No one is immune. Even if one thinks they are. They are not. Sending good wishes to all who are affected.

Testing no matter how frequent only detects the virus.
Until we get a vaccine, wearing a mask is our only way of protecting ourselves and our loved ones.

And physical distancing as well. That might be even more important than mask wearing though both are critical to ensure one's safety as best as possible. And of course washing one's hands properly and for a sufficient amount of time and disinfecting surfaces too and remembering not to touch one's face with one's hands.

I would make that distance at least 10 feet if possible. And also remember wear the masks properly. They must fit well and snugly around the nose and mouth.

I hope you as a country get through his quarantine (hopefully it is restricted to that and not a symptomatic period or hospitalisation) as smoothly, calmly and in as organised manner as possible. Having our UK PM in hospital a few months ago was unstabilising enough for our country and that wasn’t a few weeks before an election.

Thoughts and prayers.

Get well soon!!

Perhaps all those people who think this is all some big hoax, will now understand how real this pandemic is.

How convenient for him and his near and dear, that despite advocating for reduced testing to improve his image, testing is available when he needs it.

And how convenient for him and his near and dear, that despite playing Russian Roulette with millions of American lives, he can be assured of the best medical care possible.

I feel that my sensibilities regarding cosmic karma have once again been validated. For Barron’s sake - I hope they both recover.

... If this is even real, and not just an elaborate attention grab...

Biden tested negative as just reported in the news in UK.

DK :))

What a ridiculous world we live in when we can validly question what’s on the news.

I also wondered if it was a play. But then I worried that I was becoming as neurotic/paranoid/irrational as the ‘5G caused Covid’ conspiracy theorists. Gawd this year is just exhausting on so many levels!

There is early treatment that President Trump’s doctor is well aware of. The Trumps would hopefully be on early treatment. The country of India has recommended official treatment protocols on a federal and state by state basis (Uttar Pradesh for example). Taiwan also has an official early treatment protocol, Peru, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Brazil, Honduras, Egypt, Qatar, Turkey, Senegal, all of these countries and many more have official medical treatments for early stage COVID19. All people should be aware of this fact. All people should also be aware of the one over the counter early (and Pre-exposure) treatment that Fauci has mentioned and that is vitamin D taken to sufficiency, which is part of many official protocols. Please don’t think there is nothing that can be done but wait out COVID19 with fever reducers. Take early action.

I would think that the president and all in his circle were being tested on a frequent basis so this infection was caught very early on. They'll be able to take advantage of early treatment and have the very best medical care.

But can you expand on taking early action...did you mean about vitamin D? Or are you saying that if someone suspects they might have symptoms they should get tested right away and if positive, ask for early treatment? People I know that have been tested recently have been sent home to isolate and wait for results, which have fortunately turned out negative. I'm wondering If there's a protocol for early treatment in the US?

It’s being reported by Fox News that the president will be helicoptered to Walter Reed Medical Center shortly. They are reporting he will remain there for a few days.

i thought he'd be on prophylactic hydroquloroquine, azithromycin and zinc ...

perhaps the zelenko protocol is not as effective as some have purported

IF the reports are even true

if so, they've come into contact with so many people. it's going to be a whole heap of trouble

I feel terrible for ANYBODY who gets this virus, no matter who they are. Imagine having something that attacks your lungs. :eek2: Must be SO awful.

Folks, please stop with the anti-Trump comments.
Politic is not allowed here.

A US president (especially at his age and BMI) having this serious illness a month before the election is a massively important news story, especially considering all the Constitutional issues that may arise.
(Read the link in my next post.)

But no matter how you feel about this president, this thread will be shut down if members post their personal feelings about the man.

There is so much they still don’t know about Covid. The initial symptoms can be non existent or reasonably severe in the first 10 days and then people start to recover or things go “pear shaped”. They don’t fully understand why this is so. The virus affects the lungs but also affects other organs as it seems to change the viscosity of the blood. This is why people with poorer “heart health” can be more adversely affected, their heart can’t cope with the stress of pumping the more viscous blood. That has caused blood clotting (remember the American guy who had his leg amputated) so they give blood thinners which can then in turn cause brain bleeds aka a stroke.
Many of the “treatments” for particular aspects of the virus can have significant adverse side effects. Being put on a ventilator helps you breathe but also causes damage to the lungs, this is why the latest protocol is to delay ventilating until absolutely necessary. Blood thinners make it easier for your heart to pump blood but can lead to uncontrollable bleeding and in the brain this is devastating (and how/whythe guy who had his leg amputated died).
The President may well have heart issues, this goes hand in hand with advanced age and being overweight. He may also be pre diabetic, another indicator for a poorer prognosis. We will all have to sit out the next few weeks to see how the virus affects him.

Thank you Bron for explaining the pathophysiology of covid. I wasn't actually aware of that. We are so focused on the numbers we forget the effects it has on people who have contracted the virus.

Maria yes there is early treatment In the US, however it has become a politically charged Issue. Trump Is being treated early. He has a very good personal physician who is a member of the military. Trump was transparent about his treatment after his first exposure a couple months ago and is now. If you go to Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany’s Twitter you will find his current protocol. Most Americans are not eligible for the main treatment he has already done (infusion of polyclonal antibodies), but the other ingredients he is taking are all over the counter. Twitter and Facebook have many individuals working on communicating and prescribing early COVID19 protocols using FDA approved drugs used frequently for other illnesses, also look up some of the countries I mention above. Look up what Dr. Thomas Borody (the man who developed the cure for bleeding ulcer) in Australia is saying and Dr. Zev Zelenko here. Look up “Texas doctors treating COVID19 early“ on Twitter since Facebook and Google are censoring. And of course, talk to your physician. It has become taboo to talk about this issue.

The one thing Fauci did recommend was vitamin D. And many people are deficient so you can look up a normal daily dose for wintertime, which if sick, people increase temporarily. Everyone should know that adequate vitamin D is beneficial if you are facing COVID19, tons of international research studies lately on this.
