Hi everyone.
This may sound really dumb, but it is totally bothering me, so much so that I am thinking of changing how I was going to remount my 1.5ct diamond.
I''ll try to keep it brief...my MIL gave me her 1.5ct round that was in her original e-ring a little over 2 years ago. I recently had it put into a simple white gold contour setting, but I don''t like it. I was going to have a 3 stone ring made with it. When I told my MIL this she said "That''s how I originally had the diamond set!" She apparently had a .15ct round on each side of her diamond in a platinum setting -- which is basically what I was going to do.
So what''s my problem? I don''t want the same ring she had! It''s bad enough that she keeps referring to the diamond as "hers" but for me to put it in the same setting she had would bug me. I would constantly be looking at the ring thinking that this is "her" ring.
So anyway, I am thinking about putting trillions instead on either side of the round. I cannot find a real picture of a ring like this, but I think I would like it. I tried the "build your own e-ring" on blue nile and liked the drawing but I still would love to see a real pic.
Am I being crazy? Has anyone seen a round with trillions before? What about a round with pear side stones? I really like 3 stone rings.
