Travel - Paris

This is my second time in Paris, the last being 15 years ago. We did all the major museums extensively the first time around (Louvre, Musee d’orsay, orangerie, Musee Rodin etc) so we are unlikely to visit them again this time.

Travel tip: try and book your tickets to the top of the Eiffel Tower online and in advance of the day you wish to visit. We spontaneously decided to visit the Eiffel Tower today. However the website system was not permitting online booking at the time but included a notation that they were available to purchase in person. It seems that once a certain allocation of tickets has been issued for a given day you can no longer purchase online. We had to que for approximately 30 mins.

Yes - and husband is so pleased that I was able to join him. This is actually the first time I have taken an overseas holiday not in the December/January winter period. It feels quite different.

The below emerald ring from Chopard was my favourite design of the day. The emeralds were brighter than the photo suggests.

This was great fun. We made cheese and butter.

Day 7 - our tour of the Catacombs was cancelled due to “social movement” so I made a visit to the Musee de arts decoratifs. They have a small permanent jewellery exhibit.

I also visited the Van Cleef and Arpels exhibition. Unfortunately photos were not permitted. The pieces were lovely although I was surprised that many of the high jewellery pieces did not have uniformly graduated sapphires on pieces designed with gradation.
