I have no idea if I''ve resized these correctly but here goes....

DH and I went to Vietnam last year and loved it.

My favourite place was in the northwest, Sapa, on the Chinese border. This is the view from our hotel room.

We also loved the mixture of European and Asian architecture in Vietnam.

Remind you of anything?

This was taken at My Son, near Hoi An. Unfortunately much of it had been bombed during the war but it is a UNESCO heritage site now.

I do have heaps more but don''t want to overload!

It''s nowhere super exciting, however, I thought that this pic of Ft. Lauderdale beach in Florida over Christmas was pretty nice.
Enjoy ... especially those of us suffering with bad winter weather and snow.

Or how about this beach in Jamaica?

Great pictures Sparks! Especially this time of year it makes a person long for a nice mai tai and cabana to watch the beautiful blue ocean waves while relaxing with a book!

Gemma, those pictures are amazing! Thanks for sharing; I have never been to that part of world so it is great to get a glimpse!

Wow I need to dig out my pictures from my trips to Europe! But I do have handy some pics from my DH and my Honeymoon in the Mayan Riviers in Mexico last year.

Here is our hotel, it was an Iberostar, the first all-inclusive I had ever gone to (usually I am a backpacking/hostel type), and I really liked it!

Here is an amazing swamp in the Mayan jungle. Apparently there are crocodiles there, but we didn''t see any!

Dreamer,

What a beautiful hotel!!!!! Glad you didn''t see any crocks, I wouldn''t have wanted to see any either.

My DH jumping off the 10 meter platform into the water in a Cenote, which in a freshwater pool in a cave! It was so gorgeous and creepy! Funny thing, he is really afraid of heights and only jumped to impress me (he''s so cute) and the first time he jumped I missed taking the photo

So then he had to jump again! Then I got this one, which I think looks really cool. Oh well, that''s one way to conquor your fears!

Here''s a picture I took at the top of Grouse Mountain in Vancouver last summer. It was foggy, reminded me of Lord of the Rings!

To orphaned grizzly bears live in a reserve at the top of Grouse Mountain, I''ve never been this close to bears before, they must have been 6 feet tall at the shoulder.

Just before they got out of the water, they were playing together like two little kids, it was really beautiful.

My family and I have been to that very same Grizzly Bear reserve, Dreamer! We even took the ski lift ride during the off season and it was BEAUTIFUL and fun! We loved it up there & drive up there for mini holidays all the time!

Mayan ruins are a future dream of mine, but it''ll take years before we can go there because my kids are so little. I''d love for them to enjoy coming along with DH and me someday.

That''s cool that you have been there MC, you must live in the Pacific North West if you can drive there! I used to live out there and really miss it.

Regarding kids and the Mayan, you know my DH and I were really surprised with all the people at the resort with their kids, it gave us hope for our ability to travel after we have kids! Most were either under 1.5 yrs, or over 6, but there were tonnes of them. The people with little babies just brought them the the show in the evening and let them sleep in their strollers. It was great! So don''t rule it out completely, you may be able to go sooner than you think!

I was just in Turks at the Regent Palms! (over the Xmas break)...

diamonfan, how did you like it?? i loved it there because it was so quiet, i was able to just relax

Overall we really loved it. My kids loved the swim up bar and parasailing and hanging by the pool and beach. I thought the spa location was disappointing and the shopping not great on the island, but I bought a lot in the boutique there!

It is only a two hour plus flight direct from NYC I heard.

We know some developers who are doing a lot down there. We were there and left on the 23rd, so it was lovely that it was not that crowded! When were you there?

Ahhh, look at the color of that water! I''m dying for a warm beach. I live only about 25 minutes from the beach, but it''s FREEZING right now and the water is steely grey! lol

MC, the water there in Turks is amazing. Grace Bay beaches were voted top in the world recently. There is a barrier reef and it really keeps the water gorgeous and clean.

Little Dix also had a gorgeous beach, very private and protected, with that clear gorgeous water too.

Diamondgrl...

If you look in the right side of your parasailing photo... the "shorter" resort with the blue roof's.. that was the Veranda project that my hubby and I were working on for two years!!! right next door to the Alexandra...

So glad you had a beautiful time there... I miss it sooo much!

Diamondfan, we were there in July.. it was gorgeous weather.. we went for a week straight tho, and i felt that it was too long because there was really nothing to do on the island.. there is no shopping and the casino they have i felt was really suspect, and just slot machines, but i''d definately go again for a few days just to relax.

Since it is so easy to get to I would pop there too. The casino had blackjack and roulette when we were just there. We went on my birthday and I won 500.00 which was fun. My kids liked it because it was just chill and so more relaxed than our normal life. We just hung out and swam and did some boating etc, and had nice dinners. A week is a lot there, but we really needed it. The shopping stinks, I paid triple price for a Velvet t shirt dress but I needed it! When we go without kids, we do St. Barths or something, where the shopping is to die for and it is not a kid friendly place for young kids.
