I am looking for some info regarding the Tolkowsky Ideal cut. My question is how does it differ from a modern round brilliant?

Is the TIC just a modern RB cut to Tolkowskys percentages? Or are there inherent differences in the facets and such that make it significantly different than a MRB beyond the depth and table percentages? Like the difference between a MRB and a OEC?

Also, any recommendations on where to find TICs?

Thanks.

You can learn about TIC here. Stones that are TIC usually are RB. Not sure if any other round shape might be able
to fit the standards.

You can use the HCA tool to evaluate stones. At the bottom it will tell you if it is TIC.

I would think that ACAs are TIC stones (Whiteflash) and BGD signature stones also.

All vendors will probably have some stones that are TIC.

Hope this helps.

It completely helps.

Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that a TIC is a MRB, cut to the standards (i.e. percentages of table and depth), that Tolkowsky suggested; not a different "cut."
