First off, this is the best website out there and I am really grateful to everybody who contribute here. Without the knowledge I acquired here, I am sure I would be buying a bad diamond from the "DIAMONDGUY". I want a 1ct round, G/H/I, SI1 or better, with atleast a class 2 cut. And I think I found one but I am a little confused about the diamond''s cut and dimensions and hope that somebody could help me.
The Diamond is: http://www.jamesallen.com/diamond.asp?find=1&cid=130&item=1101965
Round Brilliant
1.01 ct I SI1
6.38*6.42*3.99
Table:55%
Depth: 62.3%
Crown Ang: 35.5%
Pav Angl: 40.6
To determine if I should buy this or not I hope somebody can help answer some these questions:
1) Is the diamond too expensive?
2) Is that crown angle correct? If I plug the angles in the HCA I get ex,ex,ex, vg but if I plug the % in the HCA I get less.
3) Are the dimensions too small?
4) More generally, how can I determine the quality of the cut when buying online? what are the key factors (pavillion, crown, table, dimensions)?
I would appreciate any advise. Thanks.
