Hi, I just dropped off my husbands wedding band for polishing today ( the essential band in satin finish with a diamond baguette in 5mm) I was quoted $50 which I had searched here to be the price for a polish. But on the service request receipt the SA had put to further inspect the diamond and make any necessary adjustments. I was wondering if it would cost extra if they deem necessary for adjustment, the band is about less than 1yr old.

Also is it normal that the SA prices the value of my ring at $1500? When the retail price is $3000 w/ tax included ? That’s appraising it at 50% only

Thank you.

When you say polishing you dont want them to take the satin finish off right? Did you make that clear? They should* call you if they
find any adjustments that need to be made. If you're unclear about what they are going to do you should call them and ask that they
call you before making any adjustments (that way you can say yes or no depending on what it is and be made aware of any cost they may charge).

No, its not ok they they valued your ring at $1500. I would have said its a Tiffany ring and the price of a new one is $3k. Did the SA know it
was a Tiffany?

I'm not that familiar with Tiffany but shouldnt you be going back to Tiffany to have any work done on that ring? Its not clear if you are talking about
1 ring or 2 different rings here.

It sounds like this was a Tiffany store? Unclear, I agree.

If it was a Tiffany store, they should have looked up the purchase paperwork.

The whole wedding band is satin Finished in platinum . There are a few nicks on the ring because my husband had dropped the ring on the streets by accident. It is just one ring. I’m not sure if the SA was aware it’s a Tiffany ring or not. But inside the ring clearly has the Tiffany logo. Should I call customer service to have them check over my service request?... also on my copy of the receipt the SA just wrote “wedding band with clear rectangular stone” for the item description ....... and item condition “COM. WORN.” What does the “COM.” even mean?

It was at a Tiffany store in Soho NY, the SA was trying to rushed through and was pretty rude I don’t know why. But the Value that the SA Stated on the work request receipt was $1500 (their copy) but the retail price of the ring $3000 Is this normal or not?

I honestly don't know, as whenever I've brought a Tiffany piece in for servicing, they have either verified with the computer or asked me to produce a receipt.

These are questions for the store team. I'd call the associate who served you or the location manager.
Any advice from us is conjecture.
