Tiffany Standards - Lab Comparison?

Hi,

How does Tiffany''s own lab compare with GIA or AGS? They say the standards are higher, but how do I know? Has anyone ever taken a recently bought tiffany ring to be appraised? I am interested in a princess cut w/ the classic Tiffany''s band.

Tiffany''s standards are very good and I would trust their grading system in general. Their diamonds will be better than MOST on the market these days.

BUT if you''re really into princesses and don''t NEED the blue box, check out whiteflash''s ACA or AGS000 princesses. They are spectacular and most likely WILL be nicer than a Tiff princess because they are cut to exact specifications for ideal light performance. You''ll also save a bagload of cash.

Just a note, I haven''t had experience with it, but supposedly if you ask a Tiffany person when you buy your ring about independant appraisal, they will tell you that if a Tiffany ring does not grade up as well or better then what Tiff has it, then they will give you a complete refund. Now, if the grade failure is a result of something that occurred after the sale, I doubt that is still the case.
