i''ve always liked the look of this ring, and recently came across one in my size, pre-owned.

at Tiffany, it retails for over $5K (i''m not partial to the Tiffany name and wouldn''t pay their prices

any opinions on whether it''s reasonably priced, pre-owned, at 2,700? (too good to pass up?)
or could I have one made custom for less? are square step-cuts (not asschers) hard to come by? i''ve seen lots of this style but with princess cuts, which are not my favorite...

That ring is very pretty and $2700 doesn''t seem bad if you can verify it is the real thing.

i don't think it comes with original papers or a box, but the inside of the band was engraved with their name. does tiffany verify second-hand merchandise? (if so, is it expensive?)

interesting observation, diagem! the majority of the rings pictured on that page are the square step-cuts like the tiffany version, and not asschers as listed. i didn''t look closely enough to notice, and i''m glad you pointed it out - i prefer the square step-cuts to the asschers and am glad to know signed pieces is an option for that style (with great prices too!)

I would get the Tiffany one as that price is not bad at all. I am not 100% certain, but I am pretty sure that Tiffany will authenticate second hand merchandise. I am not sure if there is a cost or how much that might be.
