So I'm looking for a larger, colorless RBC stone for my girlfriend. Something in the 10-11mm range and colorless or very nearly so. We've discussed lab grown diamonds and she likes the idea. This one from JamesAllen is a leading candidate.
Main concern I have is the clarity (VS2 from IGI). Using the superzoom function I see a fairly large needle visible through the table. I'm thinking/hoping it will not be very obvious without magnification and that it's potentially worth checking it out in person. I can always send it back if it is not 'eye clean'.
The crown angle is slightly out of the preferred range at 35.4 but I think this is matched with the pavilion angle of 40.5. Best I can tell from the video inspection is that the diamond has very good light performance and symmetry - it is a "True Hearts & Arrows" and is currently on sale - and I believe the fire should be good with that 35.4 crown angle.
Color (IGI E) should be okay, even if it translates to a F/G from GIA; my ex-wife's stones were both GIA G, 3.04 & 4.79ct mined diamonds and we were pleased with their (lack of) color.
Anyway, comments welcome, particularly whether the visible inclusions would be a dealbreaker for this rock. Or if there is something else that would suggest better to stay away. Thanks in advance!
