Thoughts on this wide band Ken and Dana setting for my oval? Is my stone too small?

Hi fellow jewel lovers! Some time ago I fell in LOVE with this wide band setting from Ken and Dana designs- Caterina 6.5mm. It’s essentially a garland diamond band made into an engagement ring setting.
Here are some screenshots however please not the main stone in these pics is a 2.5 oval.

Ok- so I have a 1.7 carat oval with dimensions 9.34x6.43.

If it matters I do have wide fingers that are a size 9.75.

Looking for thoughts on this setting with my oval and do we like?

Bet it would look lovely in you. To deal with the diamond size difference, you could reverse the

…2-1-2-center-2-1-2…

pattern so that there is one diamond next to your center stone instead of two:

…1-2-1-center-1-2-1…

I think it might blend in too much and will detract from your stone.

I would stick with this design for an eternity band, I don’t love it as an engagement ring setting I feel it’s distracting.

Maybe look for a setting with three small round diamonds on each side of the center stone? Something like this:
