Thoughts on this Lab Diamond

Neither of those are hearts and arrow. They're traditionally cut ovals

They are listed as hearts and arrows on the Brian Gavin Diamonds website

I just checked and Brian Gavin doesn't sell hearts and arrows ovals so I'm confused

To my knowledge, JannPaul has the only hearts and arrows oval in the market (please let me know if there are others!).
That's not to say that there aren't other signature cuts and assessed ovals that have good light performance.
IMO the BG diamond has a big bowtie that reflects light very well.

Big bow tie, but not a “bad” bow tie? It looks like it will have a lot of sparkle and brilliance which is what I’m looking for and I’m willing to spend money on quality, I just don’t want to overpay for something that won’t stand out. I will say the L/W ratio is a bit on the low side (still within the 1.3-1.5 range)

Most generic oval cuts have big facets in the center that are a contrast to those at the "points" which are smaller. This produces a differences in how much light is reflected even in the best of generic cuts - in the worst, the bowtie has poor performance.
I like your pick. For my own preference, I would prefer the distinctive gems oval as that is the oval style I like more.
Let me see if I can put together a guide to different oval styles.

FrankDarling has a pretty good write up:
The left is a bow tie reflecting the camera, meanwhile the right has minimal difference between the size of the center facets vs the points. This amount of facet size and distribution increases the color difference between the points and center as well as causing some concern about light reflection.

Your ASET shows good light reflection, so that aspect is less of a concern.
