Hi everyone! Knowing cut is the king above all things, what do you guys think of this stone? It is a 1ct RB for about $4400 (a good deal?)

Depth 62.0%
Table 57.0%
Crown: 35
pavilion: 40.8
star length 50%
half facet length 80%
cutlet pointed

Numbers look promising. Are you able to get an ASET or idealscope image? How about a magnified image of the diamond?

Hi diamondseeker2006! Unfortunately the seller is not able to provide an ideal-scope image, this is the only image I have. How does it look to you? unnamed_53.jpg

From that picture alone the diamond looks pretty symmetrical so far. That's a good sign.

anyone else? thoughts? comments? advises?

I have a diamond with identical figures. It is beautiful. Although there will be differences from rounding in GIA reports.

Hi George! I just looked at your beautiful 1.3ct RB, it looks super pretty! Did you ever get the ideal scope image? how does it look?

anyone else? comments?

I didn't manage to get IS images as I was under time constraint and could not wait the 5 days or so to acquire them. Haven't got it on me now but can post pictures later.

I had a good look at many diamonds over several months and can safely say the one I bought without seeing was my favourite. The inclusions are well spread and I was a little worried about the one at 3 o'clock but it is not visible face-up after very careful scrutiny.

In brick and mortar stores it was incredibly rare to come across ideal cut stones by pricescope standards. In comparison a 35/40.8 was very bright with particularly excellent fire and scintillation. Despite not examining it under the halogen lights of a jewellery store, it appears bright, even in light starved scenarios. They say a 34/40.8 would appear brighter with less fire and scintillation but I wanted something with more fire. I think if you don't mind the colour, that should be a lovely stone.

What are the crown/pav depth percentages? 15/43?

In terms of a good deal, I think for a VS1/I that is a very good price. I struggled to find SI1/Is 1 RB for that price! Which vendor are you using out of interest?

It's certainly worth looking at but if you're forced to buy it sight unseen with no refund/return policy then I'd pass. It appears to be a good deal especially if it's a GIA graded stone.
