Hello!

I would love any thoughts on this ring. I love antique rings, and this one seems very unique to me in terms of it's shape and design. Does anyone have any idea or thoughts on where it might come from? (era, country?)

Here are some of it's specs:

Setting: Platinum
TCW: 1.69
-Center diamond: Old Mine Cushion cut, 1.26 ct, L-M, SI2 (don't know where these gradings come from or how accurate they are yet)
-Side diamonds: 2 old mine diamonds totaling .35 ctw + 4 single cut .08 ctw

Also, does anyone have a good recommendation in the Long Island or NYC area to get it appraised?

Thanks very much :)

I would definitely have an experienced and independent appraiser take a look at it. From the pictures, it looks much yellower than any L coloured diamond I've seen. The clarity is also worse than what I expect as SI2 to be.

Thanks Chrono, would you know of a good recommendation in the Long Island or NYC area where I can get it appraised?

Is that the lighting, or has the bezel been repaired badly at some point? I'd plan on spending a bit to have it repaired correctly. (Don't cheap out - the wrong jeweler will make a mess of that intricate setting.)

Thanks VRBeauty, yes I believe it will need some restoration. Do you know how much this sort of work costs? I'm currently trying to find a good jeweler in the area (Suffolk County, Long island, or I can go to the NYC area) who specializes in restoring antique jewelry. Please do let me know if you have any recommendations or tips on finding one.
