Thoughts on this .82ct I VS2 Cushion from GoG, alternatives?

Re: Thoughts on this .82ct I VS2 Cushion from GoG, alternati

I think that GOG modern cushion is gorgeous - I've been eyeing it for a while just because it is such a nicely shaped square and based on the images/reports likely an amazing performer.

And the G&Co halo setting seems spot-on - I'm assuming you've (or GOG) already ascertained it can be made with a cushion (the pic shows a round diamond)?

Looking at the following Cushion from GoG and wanted to hear what everyone thinks: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/10886/

Any better alternatives? Thoughts? I would like to stay under $3,000 for the diamond. VS2 or higher clarity, I or higher color.

This is the setting I plan to get from Gabriel NY: https://bridal.gabrielny.com/product/ER7500W44JJ

Thank you all!

Hi omp,

That's a beautiful cushion, images all look excellent, if you prefer the more modern type cushion to the chunkier faceted type, then it could be perfect! I colour should face up pretty white, VS2 colour ' should' be eye clean but no harm in checking with Jon to be absolutely sure, but I would imagine there would be no problem there.

I would advise you to reserve this diamond if you are seriously considering it, there are lots of people reading and once a stone is up for discussion they can go pretty fast!

The setting is also beautiful, you should have a stunning ring!

I think the stone is great!

Maybe you could have Jon make a video of that stone along with this August Vintage Cushion: http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/10732/ and one other, so you can make a visual comparison?

Even if you stick with the stone you had linked, you are going to be a happy camper.

Just a suggestion!

Thanks everyone for all the excellent replies! I've just put it on reserve and am in touch with GoG for a comparison video. I'm going to be comparing with a few August Vintage cushions in the price range. I will keep you all updated on the process!

The two cushions you and RockyRacoon found are beautiful. That will be a tough decision to make.

Here's the video!

I asked about the third diamond and it meets my criteria to be considered eye clean. I'm up in the air leaning towards #2 and #3. #3 costs about $1,100 more than #2.

Any thoughts or which one would you pick? Ready to pull the trigger on one of them right now!

Thanks!

All 3 are absolutely gorgeous but for me, it's chunky all the way in cushions and number 1 caught my eye the most out of the three. You could pick any of them and be happy I am sure but as Jon says it comes down to personal preference with cushion cuts of this calibre. I picked number 1 because it looks largest  and I like the rectangular shape.

Three superb choices, you can't get this wrong!

Re: Thoughts on this .82ct I VS2 Cushion from GoG, alternati

My personal preference is for the I-VS2 modern cushion but as Lorelei says, all 3 are solid choices so it is really which fits your budget and pleases your eye the most.
