Hi all,

I think I have chosen the kind of stone I am looking to get. What do you think about these tourmalines?

I like the second one better. Pretty colors.

Pretty! I like the second one.

That''s what I thought, too. :) I bought it.

Does anyone have recommendations on where to buy settings? I found a few on ebay that I liked [diamond halos] but wasn''t sure where else to look.

Thanks! :)

YEAH!! Congratulations! Have you looked at some of the LOGR settings on ebay? Also, if you search for LOGR here at PS, you'll see alot of rings that some of the PSer's has done.

I'm so happy for you!

Oh, and Laurenthepartier did a pink stone setting not too long ago and it's gorgeous!

Thanks! I am very excited :)

I''ll have to check hers out.

I saw this one from LOGR:

I''ll have to keep my eye on it. It''s the exact style I want. I hope it doesn''t get too high!!

Hmm, seeing her 1.4ish on her hand, I''m starting to wonder if the one I bought is TOO BIG!!

It really depends on what size your finger is.

Hmm, I guess that''s true! I''m not sure of the exact size, believe it or not. I know it''s bigger than a 6. 6.5 or 7, maybe.

Here is Lauren''s link:

Also, on the top of the page there are alot of pictures of PSer''s ring...

I''m a size 7-7.5, depends on water retention

I just found this handy dandy chart --

It might not be as big on me as I am afraid of. At least they have a good return policy! And if it''s ginormous, maybe I can make it into a necklace or something...who knows! :)

Holy cow, she has a lot of beautiful rings! This site is totally bad for my bank account!

I can''t believe all of her settings are from LOGR. I really like the simple one she has around the pink stone, but I don''t see anything similar listed. I''ll have to keep looking! :)

I''ve been searching for settings for my new shiny. :)

Any thoughts about this one [which is from a local jewelry store], but in white gold?

Nice looking setting...

Sleek, Modern, stylish...

Seems to be a well executed and polished piece.

IMHO White gold will help provide better contrast while yellow gold would add a little tone to the stone.

Nice!

Just note that it often costs more to set a stone in white gold because they have to re-rhodium plate the ring. My jeweler charges $60 to do this, although I hear that some PS''ers have it done for free by their jewelers. So far, I cannot find a jeweler with workmanship that I trust that will do that for free or for a much lower price. My last two rings I decided not to re-rhodium because of the exhorbitant cost (on top of just setting the stone). They looked fine afterwards. The prongs on one are a tad bit grey, but you really can''t notice the difference. I certainly don''t think it''s worth $60 to re-rhodium THAT.

Good to know! I''ll have to check it out with him.

What about the LOGR settings, like the ones LaurenThePartier has? Would those need to be rhodium plated after setting a stone? My guess is no, but I really don''t know.
