Thoughts on engagement stone options

Hi all,

After months of researching/reading your forums I have 2 diamonds in mind for an engagement ring. I am looking at 1.2ct stone in a D,E, or F color, and eye clean. Below are the 2 stones I have on temporary hold on Blue Nile. My question is, should I spend the extra $900 to upgrade to the VS1 diamond? I am not sure it will make a difference to eye viewing. Let me know your thoughts, I greatly appreciate the input.

VS1, E color, Medium fluorescence, Holloway cut advisor score: 1.9. $8188

VS1 and VS2 should both be eye clean. Are you wanting fluorescence? It seems the bigger concern would be making sure whichever stone you choose is not negatively affected by fluorescence, causing it to appear hazy or milky?

Thank you so much for the reply! I am not too knowledgeable on how fluorescence affects the color or shine of the "colorless" grades. I was staying away from the strong blue or strong fluorescence, dlbut don't know if a faint or medium fluorescence would have much of an impact on the higher color diamonds? Thanks again!
