Thoughts? 2.51 ct J/SI1 Triple X

That's funny, I was always wondering if you "tricked" her into seeing it. The J should face up really nice and white. The tint is mostly seen from the side view and can be disguised easily by the proper setting. I wouldn't be too worried, she will be thrilled with the engagement (and big ole sparkly rock)!!!

Everything that I've read seems to say 0-2 is a good HCA. Do you personally think that a 2.1 is good? I guess it's too late now, but figured I should ask anyway!

Thanks!

2.1 will be fine. I use HCA as a guide to find stones I might be interested in. If the diamond performs to your liking in person, it doesnt matter if it is 2.1 or 1.2.

Yeah, the HCA isn't a selection tool, but an elimination tool... Most shoot for <2, I don't think 2.1 is a "deal-breaker" at all!! I'm so excited to see this stone!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Post pics soon! :appl:

Well I saw it last night and it looks even more amazing in person. The diamond looked great when it wasn't on the setting, but with it all together it looks unbelievable. It certainly doesn't look like a J/SI1. The Jeweler was telling me he made the mistake of showing it to another customer who wanted a 2.5 G...and now wants a J like this (which he said good luck!). They're sending it back to have the bottom of the band tapered a bit more and another diamond on the side added. But I couldn't be happier. When I get the finished product I will upload more pics. I apologize for the clarity in this picture - it was tough to get a good shot.

Thanks again to everyone on this thread who helped calm my fears. I feel that I got the deal of the century. Now the waiting begins!
