These are all good. I especially appreciate Missy's post.

I was a goody two shoes and listened to all the adults. Hence, I have lived a pretty safe, straight arrow life. In retrospect maybe I would have ended up happier if I tried to please myself, than every one around me (at least, had at least more fun, done more art, and been more laid back!) But it's never too late to learn.

Trust, but confirm.

My Dad told me advice I took to heart that: men are jerks, don't depend on them financially, always earn your own way. I would amend it to "Don't financially depend on a man. AND don't marry a man who financially depends on you". I did the first but not the latter. Equally big mistake.
