I am proud of how amazing my husband and 3 kitties are, and of my ability to overcome unexpected adversities in life to arrive at where I am professionally today.

HI:

No bragging--but I have "heard" I am very capable in the kitchen.

Well of course my DH and my boys.

I don''t really brag about this per se, but I am proud that I can almost always find a great bargain on what I am looking for. My friends call me all the time with requests to find them things discounted.
I like this!!
I''m the same way..proud of the fact that I have a ''nose for value'', and can find wonderful things at unheard of prices! My friends don''t ask me to find them things however..they don''t know how much I paid for any of my great finds..and I just let them keep thinking I spent fortunes!

Maybe you should consider this as a business and charge a finders fee Neatfreak!

neatfreak doesn''t strike me as the type who would try to profit off of her friends!

i am with you two though, if there is anything i do brag about it would have to be my ability to find pretty good deals on interesting items, especially on furniture from craigslist. however, i am excited to share the background on my finds with my friends - no false pretenses here! i would be uncomfortable trying to seem something i am not... plus i want them to know there are great finds out there if you poke around.

I brag about my family''s dog (cutest, sweetest, most loving animal in the whole world) and my wonderful family. I love to tell people about my little brothers'' accomplishments (they''re so talented!).

Go James, go!!

I don''t really brag, but I''ve mentioned my birth story (my own, I don''t have kids yet) to people on occasion and I get a lot of "oh wow''s." I was born really early. My mom still mentions the story sometimes, and I suppose she brags.

I just thought about something else I tend to "brag" about.

I''m a big couponer. I catch myself telling people how much I saved at the grocery store that week (60% this week!). My life is sooooo exciting.

Husband - I can''t help it, he''s amazing. I have such a hard time stopping myself from saying ''Sorry, I don''t have that issue!'' when my friends complain about their SOs.

Yep, me too! Part of me feels so darn relieved that I escaped the ''culture'' of self-fulfilling cynical loserness in love, which seems to be almost all-pervading these days ... and I''m not entirely sure how I did that, except by having strong values that seemed to keep me apart from the crowd I ran with.

Had to swim against the tide though!

My so-called hip girlfriend at one stage introduced me to a group of new people as, "This is Lara, and she wants to get married''!!

Hahha well guess who had the last laugh!

Pretty pleased with how my kids are turning out as well!! I love love love family life!!!

Oh, I would like to be you!! I have a friend who I very much admire - she''s in her late 50s, such a wonderful friend - and she''s a FAHabulous, inspirational and generous cook!!

My own mother was a dreadful cook , who sneered at women who liked the homebody things... as a result, I have a real respect for good cooks!!!

My kids. Even though 3 of them have special needs they are such amazing kids and I''m so proud of them.

I brag about how much I save using coupons.

DH lost job several months ago and I have found a new love for coupons. I am going to local supermakets that double and triple coupons....and I wish I had done this years ago! I''m trying to convert all my coworkers and I''m trying to learn all tricks to save the most. I treat it like a game. Last week was my best yet savings yet at the supermarket...and...may I brag?
2.gif

Total bill = $280
Deduct total of triple coupons and store specials = - $123
Total cost out of my pocket = $157

April: I posted before I read your post. I am in awe of you!

You should start a coupon thread to teach me, and others who may be interested, your coupon tricks. You go, girl!!!

Hehe, nope I don''t. Love to help friends out for free-it''s the only talent I have.

Hahaha I actually love to start sentences off with "I''m not trying to brag or anything, but...(insert super braggy comment here)!"

I''m proud of myself for going back to school and finishing, and getting a 4.0 the entire time I was in College: Round 2!

I''m also proud of myself for getting a new career-type job using my brand new college degree even though I hate change and am sort of wishing I didn''t have a new job right about now! (First day is tomorrow...EEK!)

And I love to brag about how sweet my fiance is...and my gorgeous and talented kitties...and my awesome family, too!

Tomorrow is the start of a new job? Wishing you a good first day; good luck.

Thanks Holly...yep, my first day starts bright and early...YIKES! I should probably go to bed but I''m not tired!

Go to bed honey. And HUGE AMOUNTS OF DUST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don''t brag but the things about which I''m most proud, and will share with students or close friends who are experiencing similar challenges, are all related to surviving a rough start in life. Survived a childhood of parental abuse & poverty. Started college when I was 30, got my bachelors at 36; masters degree at 42. Have had a number of successful careers -- wildlife rehabilitator, editor, vice president, director, and, much to my surprise, I''ve won awards for two of my short stories and they''ve been published.

My hubby!! He is smart, creative, caring, and likes a strong woman

! What''s not to love?!!!

My husband, I adore him and he is my best friend. If anyone needs help, he is right there. My family and of course my adorable grandsons. I

I am proud of how amazing my husband and 3 kitties are, and of my ability to overcome unexpected adversities in life to arrive at where I am professionally today.

..and zhuzhu - girl! - you could always brag about those beautiful rings you''re wearing!

for me, it''s probably my taste. i''ve decorated all 13 of our houses (some of which we bought specifically to flip), have done all my close friends homes, have planned the weddings for all my close girlfriends - from menu to bridesmaids'' flowers - have arranged private dinners to huge banquets, and am called upon almost every day to fix a design problem or give decorative ideas. DH and i have had houses in magazines, on tv, and so on and so on. i love buying things that are old and broken down, and making something beautiful from them and am often asked to help prepare homes for sale so they achieve maximum price. i''ve done this both for friends for free and for bigger jobs for hire. i love design and color of all kinds - from setting a beautiful table for a dinner party, to going to a plastic surgeon with a friend to explain what my friend might want re correcting a bump in the chin, or an asymmetry in her nose, and so on. if it''s visual, it''s my thing.

my only other skill worth mentioning is that i can always calm animals and babies. i''m a child psych by profession, and i''ve always been able to take crying babies and help them relax/sleep. ditto dogs/cats/birds etc. i dont know why i can, but i''ve been called on by my friends to do it times beyond counting.

Thing Good luck with your job tommorow :), hope it goes fantastically :D.

I am not a bragger by nature except for mah kitties they are an exception to the rule but I love bragging about others achievements - I guess the better term is taking joy - nothing makes me happier then when those around me achieve things important to them.

Thanks Gypsy and Dee! I woke up way too early for it but at least I''ll be on time!

At my old job (single tear to say that!) I went in basically whenever I wanted (10:30ish usually) so getting to work at 9 am is quite the change for this non-morning person!
