Ewen Tyler OA and father of diamond prospecting in Australia at 92 is being interviewed by a finance adviser.
Its 27 minutes.
Ewen is a good friend. Saw him last Friday. An amazing man - who is still as sharp as a tack.
If you want a good story on the discovery of Argyle diamond mine, plus 2 others - have a listen :-)

Very interesting.
Thanks for posting, Garry.

Thanks you and Kenny. Ewen is a true living legend - oh to be so able to remember stories and details like that - I am already lost in that department and I am only 67

Thanks for sharing! It's wonderful to hear the history.

One very interesting thing that Ewen said was of all the diamonds found in the Argyle mine were categorized into 5% gem quality, 50% industrial, and 45% other.

Is this typical of most diamond mines?

No. Ewen explained that Argyle rough at the time.was worth $6 per carat. A tenth of most mines. But there was 10 times more diamonds per ton or ore.
