Well since today is such a cold and dreary day I figured I would continue the search for the two .75ct side stones I have been looking for to add to my ring to make a graduated five stone band! I currently have 3 stones that I will be keeping as well. I had found a couple stones at JA that I was interested in but since DH wasn''t around I waited and one sold. But this morning I was checking out WF and think that I may have found them! I called and had a great conversation with one of the reps. who told me that they didn''t have them in-house but come Monday morning they would get all the info I needed to make my decision. I hope this works out but even if it doesn''t I feel like I''m a bit further in the process and that''s a good thing since I have been obsessing over this the past few months!

Here are the stones, please tell me what you think. (I hope this link works)

I also spoke to her about settings and the tone of the conversation really eased my mind. Knowing that I most likely have to go custom it is something that makes me very nervous. I know I''m getting ahead of myself but I really can''t wait to get to that point!!!

So far, so good! Assuming they are eyeclean, and the IS pics aren''t bad, I''d say you found your set!

How exciting, 777! You''re closing in!

Given the info available so far, those diamonds look quite promising!

Whiteflash is such a pleasure to deal with ...I hope that you get all the info you need to make your decision on Monday. I can''t wait to see the final product!

WOO HOO! I have my fingers crossed and I''ll be sure to post details as soon as I can!!!

Initially I was going to go with an eternity band to wear with the five stone band but I think I have decided on using 1/4 ct''s for the remainder of the ring. We shall see what the $$$ quote will be but in the meantime this is what I''m thinking. The setting however will look like the WF trellis for the 5 main stones and probably something more like a basket for the 1/4''s. Whatchathink!!! I know I''m still getting ahead of myself!!

Mr.7''s says I have to get off my computer now to eat

Ok, I may be confused here. Are you saying you''re going to have the 5 main stones, and then .25 all the way around?

They look like beauties for side stones. I can''t wait to see your finished ring.

Gotta love leftover chinese, lol!

Yes, I think that is what I''ve finally decided on, but again I''ll have to see the quote first because I know custom can be $$$. Initially I wanted to get the five stone ring with a 3mm plain band as a spacer and an eternity band too but now I''m thinking it may be too much. Adding the 1/4 ct diamonds to make the rest of the band will continue with the graduated effect that I want and still be bold enough for me that I won''t need another diamond band, just the plain one. I hope that makes sense, I tend to come up with weird concepts, hehe!

Marcy, I can''t wait to see it either, lol! It''s so frustrating when you have something in your mind but don''t know how to get it. PS has been a great resource to figure out what I really want!!

No, you ''splained it perfectly. I just wanted to make sure you were saying what I thought you were saying. And you were.

I think that sounds lovely, and would look faboo paired with a plain band.

Thanks Ellen! I hope it all works out and fall into place...I can not wait till Monday!

Ditto what ellen said about the stones. I love your idea for a band, it reallly sounds blingy and beautiful. I think the .25''s all the way around are going to be incredible!

So I mentioned briefly that I had found a pair of diamonds at JA but waited and one sold...and many of the PS vendors use the same supplies right??? Well, I think that I picked out the same exact stones only they were from WF (go figure

)... which means I have a very strong feeling one of those stones will not be available on Monday.

I was just fiddling around, ya know passing the time, and figured I would put in my desired specs through the PS search and well that is when I noticed it... That very same diamond from JA has the IDENTICAL EVERYTHING as the one WF has. I didn''t notice it at first because WF''s prices are a bit higher and I didn''t put 2+2 together but I am almost certain.

I guess the search really does continue...

Oh no! I hope it''s not the same one.

However, if it is, but the other comes in looking good, just ask WF to find a mate. They will be happy to do that, it''s their job. Don''t feel like you have to do this all on your own.

The reason for that is that you are using the search for virtual stones versus in-house stones. Many of the stones are listed by multiple vendors because the stones are still with the suppliers. I only use this search:

https://www.pricescope.com/sift.aspx

Personally, if I were doing this kind of ring, I''d be doing it with WhiteFlash and let THEM match up the stones for me. I''d want to use ACA uncertified melee for the .25 stones to save some money as you just don''t need a cert on diamonds that small.

I agree. Whiteflash will keep an eye out for a matching stone for you. I''d actually recommend it because I think they''d notify you about it before putting on their website for sale, so no one can get to it first.

I had actually found the stones on WF itself, not through the PS search. I had only discovered that they can be bought through different vendors when I did run a search through PS and saw the two stones from JA (that I was originally interested in) still came up, as did the ones from WF. When you try to access one of the stones from JA it isn''t available any longer however WF still shows it. I did however also search for in-house stones as well and nothing comes up.

Now I wonder why WF prices are higher for the same stones that other vendors sell as well.

I know that WF, or any vendor really, would be able to match some stones but seeing as I can get the same stones somewhere else doesn''t that make more sense to save $$$ and then have them do the setting.

I''m also not too concerned about the .25''s, cert''s weren''t something that I was even thinking about, and hoped/planned on having WF make those choices after having seen the five main stones.

Any vendor can put any price on a stone, but you''re right, that doesn''t mean you should pay it. If you see something WF could get for less somewhere else, ask them to match the price. My guess is, they would. But that''s just guess.
