Hi

I've been looking/searching on this forum for around a week now, have been looking for a e-ring a little longer.
I'm not a newb to the world of diamonds, my job involves me in both the rough and polished process of these wonderful shiny rocks, but mainly rounds. I only see cushions on a rare occasion and therefor i need some help.

I'm on a budget, around 4500$ (4k€), as setting i was thinking about this one from B2C (Any thoughts about this? Cant seem to find pictures of people who have this setting)

Thats leaves me with around 3000$ to find a stone, i would like to stay above H- color and Si1-clarity, eye-clean ofcourse, no black inclusions. I'm having a hard time with this and i'm becoming a "little" impatient. Any help/suggestions would be apriciated, i realy wanted to be able to provide a full carat for her but in the end it's all about the mm and face up size.

Thanks

Ps: I obviously look around in the sector where i work too, although this is dificult because my lady and people we know work here and... people talk (too much) Keeping it a little bit of a suprise is pricelesss to me.

Ps2: Sorr for any misspelling, English is not my native language, i tried my best :)

Unfortunately B2C does not offer pictures so Its almost impossible to make any recommendations from them. You could contact
them and ask them for recommendations (if they have any in house that fits your bill).

Here is one at JA but it's almost $2k. That one at B2C is priced really low for a double halo (worries me).

cute stone but over budget

You could do a single halo which would leave more for a stone...
http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/halo/14k-white-gold-falling-edge-pave-diamond-engagement-ring-item-49492 this one actually has 2 rows of diamonds at $1350

http://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/halo/14k-white-gold-cushion-outline-pave-engagement-ring-item-49493 $1330

Possible stones for above settings...just not finding a lot that fits in your budget :((

Indeed, the ring of B2C is cheap compared to the other vendors. I tried looking for pictures/reviews about this one but haven't had alot of luck so far  I did notice that when you choose between the 14k and 18k (white) gold, the color & clarity of the melee also changes (JA uses F/VS2, which might explain the price difference a little?)

The double halo set of JA.. I dont know exactly why, but theres something about it that puts me off, but maybe it's just the spinning image which looks so damn yellow to me, also the second row is based lower as the first.

I'm browsing the stones on JA right now and comparing the ones i find/like to the ones you guys posted. Going below a carat to 0.70 does bother me alot though.. Maybe i should consider saving up some extra budget or indeed go for a single halo

Thanks for the help so far

I just bought a cushion (1.01ct I/VVS2) and a plain shank halo setting from James Allen for $3940. Stone was $3250 and setting $690 in 14k gold.

There was a 0.73 that I liked as well and almost bought, that would get close to in your budget with the double halo setting if you went for the plain shank. Nice size face up.

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.73-carat-g-color-vvs1-clarity-sku-622147

$2680 + $1250 = $3930.

Sweet! What was the size of it? (mm) Pictures when it arives please

My stone is 5.95x5.48x3.98, l/w ratio 1.09.

61% table.

The color is not my first choice, I prefer higher colors, but I'm living with it for the price difference.

Others may not agree with me because this cushion is a little leaky under the table but I like it, it's a size that you want, and it's in your price range: http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-7485128-1.01-carat-Cushion-diamond-I-color-VS2-clarity.aspx

ASET looks acceptable to me.

JA will set a stone for you, if not - you can get a good double halo in 18k gold from Yoni at Eternity by Yoni. Price is like $2k for the ring including the setting fee, or he might be able to get the same stone for you if you give him the GIA number.

Found another stone if you're willing to drop to a single halo. James Allen has a single halo plain shank ring for $690 or a twisted shank with halo for $590, and I think the pave shank model is $890:

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.02-carat-e-color-si1-clarity-sku-672343
$3580 + 690 = 4270, and you might be able to get an advantage discount on the stone to bring it pretty close to your budget.

eta: that last stone is huge. 6.03x5.80. In a single halo of 1/2 pointers that stone is going to be like 8+mm across. That's a pretty big ring.

Just found out that JA doesnt ship to my country, i could let it ship nearby, but then it will be a whole thing with the tax and stuff.
Pretty stupid i dint check this first, i asumed they shipped worldwide

I was looking at this stone in combination with a single halo

http://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/1.03-carat-i-color-vvs2-clarity-sku-658369

Will continue my search more nearby or end up paying the tax & make a little road-trip, might be a cool idea actualy

Sounds great, it's the same size as the stone i put up above^. The stone from B2C doesn't realy apeal to me, neither does the one of JA because of the black inclusion that relfects into the entire stone (Wont be eye-clean)
Appreciate the effort, thanks all for the help.

I'd disagree on the eye cleanliness. There's a small inclusion on the table that you won't see when the stone sparkles.

Too bad they won't ship to your country.

That said I think the one you picked in your last post has a lot of mushiness going on under the table and I think it wouldn't be as attractive in real life.

Another nice stone, in your price range, not a full carat though but way better on the color and clarity:

This one is back in the I/SI1 range but I think it's probably pretty likely to be eye clean:

It's black and reflects inside the pavilions aswel as the crown, i would be shocked if you could not see this with the naked eye, anyway i wont debate on that with you since it's not relevant anymore :wall:

Thanks again
