Please, please, PLEASE take a look at the following diamond stats and tell me what you think! It is a bit over our price-range (were shooting for around $6,000) including an appraisal and simple setting but I have just fallen in love! We have a little extra $$$ that we can borrow if necessary, if this is a nice one, we may purchase it!

RADIANT (Cut-Cornered Square Modified Brilliant)
Carat: 1.12
Clarity: VS1
Color: E

Measurements: 6.13x5.96x3.88 (1.03:1 LxW Ratio)
Depth: 65.1
Table: 63
Girdle: M-STHK
Crown Angle%: 9.2

Price: $6,746.00 (cash/wire/check)

What do you think? THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!!!

Signed,
BITTING MY NAILS IN ANTICIPATION!!!

Anybody? Your thoughts? Pretty please?!

According to the Price Stats, it is about $50 more than the "average," is that good or bad?!

I don''t know anything about radiants, but there are some very knowedgeable people here on PS. Have you tried PMing them?!?!

Um...Still new to this, how do I "PM" them? Thanks for the advice!
PS-I have DROOLED over your ring since I first started lurking here, LOL!

I purchased a radiant not too long ago, a bit smaller than yours, but the table and depth percentages were very similar. This could be a beautiful stone, but as anyone else will tell you, you can''t judge radiants by numbers alone. The numbers can be used to rule out some diamonds though, and the numbers definitely don''t rule this one out. My best advice is check to see if the seller has a return policy and if they do, order it and take a look at it and also have an appraisal done. If you like it, great; if not, you have the option of sending it back.
As far as the price goes, I think it''s a bit high, but if you like the diamond it may be worth it to you. Just as a point of reference I paid just over $4200 for a 1.03 carat, although mine was a F, vs2, and your diamond is an E, vs1. That will definitely make a difference in price. If you want to keep your budget around $6000, finding a diamond that is F, vs2 may drop you below that price and most people will not be able to tell the difference between E and F or vs1 and vs2.

That''s great advice that I''d love to take...Now, to find a stone that has a 2B or better cut with a square LxW ration that is F in color and VS2...*Crickets cherping* (I fell in love with this one because it is the nearest to what I am looking for and have yet to find, LOL!)

I know what you mean about finding the perfect diamond. If you''re not in a hurry, you might want to wait to see if something cheaper comes along. Of course diamond prices are always increasing, so you might just want to get this one now. It''s a hard decision, I know.

There seem to be more...

This one is larger for the money

1.3cts F/VS2
Shape: Radiant
Carat weight: 1.27
Color: F
Clarity: VS2
Depth %: 65.5
Table %: 61
Symmetry: Good
Polish: Good
Girdle: VT
Culet: NO
Fluorescence: NO
Measurements: 6.61-6.40-4.19 (1.03/1 = square)

This is still a hair larger, just about square (1.06/1) and $1k cheaper
1.23 E-Si1
Carat 1.23
Color E
Clarity SI1
Measurements 6.11 x 5.76 x 4.15 mm
Depth Percentage 72 %
Table Percentage 68 %
Girdle TK
Culet N
Polish VERY GOOD
Symmetry GOOD
Fluorescence NONE

AGA charts are a good guide but without a promise of brilliance attached, I would relax their requiremets a bit when a particular diamond is proved bright and brilliant.

Like this one:
1.03cts F/SI1
Shape: Radiant
Carat: 1.03
Color: F
Clarity: SI1
Depth: 72.2
Table: 67
Crown Angle: 43.5
Crown %: 14
Pavilion Angle: 40.7
Pavilion %: 55.9
Girdle: SLTHK
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Culet: None
Fluorescence: No
Measurements: 5.70-5.58X4.08 (1.02/1 = square)

Unlike the others, this one comes with picture, Ideal Scope and the whole load of stats to boot. It is the bargain of the lot... but also a bit smaller than your find. The wonderful shape and cut may well compensate... if you find it nearl as attractive as I do.

I wouldn''t know to explain what good Sarin reports do on top of GIA certs (for these stones and others) since those do not help predict brilliance or anything. Anything that does or at least shows the shape and looks of the stone, makes allot more sense to me. Well, that''s just me, of course.

Best of luck for the radiant hunt !

Thank you, thank you, thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know! I LOVE the last one, but you are right-I was hoping for a little bit bigger-but may need to re-think that! I will keep looking! (or maybe purchase one of the ones your recommended, LOL!)

The size difference between them is rather subtle. Between the largest and the smallest perhaps something shows a bit.

well...
