Here''s my chart - I used the middle temp in the end....

ffchartpan1.JPG

Fisher .02 is 2/100th of a degree, that is the SAME as your old thermometer since .02 is too small an increment to count reliably. You only need to worry about the first decimal place when you enter your temps, so go ahead and use that new thermometer baby! CONGRATS!!!

Pandora I'm so sorry you are feeling steamed and frustrated! Treat your self to something you love today, you deserve it. If it is any consolation, ALL THREE of your temps are actually high. All of them are well above the cover line and so don't necessarily mean anything at all! I also would get very different temps 10 minutes apart! In TCOYF it mentions this issue, since tenths of a degree are very very small increments there is always error in measurement, and so you really need to go with the first temp and never re-temp, otherwise it leads to craziness
26.gif
. If for some reason the one temp is a little wonky, that one bad temp doesn't affect interpreting a chart, since if it was a baddie the next day will make things clearer (i.e., be higher or lower where is should be). And, FWIW, I dislike missionary position, we never used it, we tended to use doggy style (hate that name, so gross) and it seemed to work. We also used woman on top sometimes then tried to roll without disengaging so the swimmers stayed put
20.gif
and I could rest on my back. Now that was not a sexy sight.

Yay, Fisher! When do you plan to test? How long is your LP normally? Mine averages 11 days and FF has my test date as the 14th (12dpo), so the day AF would most likely show up. I think I''m probably going to test on the 12th though because a BFP at 10dpo, while early, is not unheard of and DH''s cousin is having all of the women in the family over that night and I know there will be drinking. If I were to get a BFP I wouldn''t have anything, but a BFN and I think I''d have one or two. I know I wouldn''t be sharing blood with the baby (if there is one!) at that point, but I just don''t want to drink at all once I know I''m pregnant.

Pandora, I''m sorry you''re having a sucky day
8.gif
. Buying a house was one of the most stressful times of my life, second only to wedding planning because it went on for so much longer and we even had a fairly smooth transaction. Is 5% high over there? I''d kill for 5%! We got 6.125% and thought we were pretty lucky. Of course it went down to the high 5''s just after we closed. That''s a tough situation you''re in with work. Something similar happened to a friend at my old job. She eventually got replacements for her guys, but it took forever. I hope it goes more quickly for you. I think your chart is looking great though! How long is your LP normally?

Pandora - I wouldn''t worry too much about the exact temp - you''re still so far above coverline, and temps can fluctuate quite a bit without meaning anything. Heck, I''ve even seen a fair number of charts over the years that dipped below the coverline at what looked like the end of LP, only to bounce back the next day and get a BFP. Sorry about the conference stress. I''m sure that can''t help! RE positions, I''m too lazy to be on top (plus figure it can''t be great for TTC), so it''s either missionary or spoon-like on the bed. I assume as long as you get the boys reasonably far in there and don''t let them all drip out right away, you''re probably fine. People have been known to get pg even if they get up and run to pee 2 min after BD, so who knows if any of it really matters.

Fisher - definitely looks like an O to me too, given that your temps have shot up and the fertile CM is disappearing. Great BD line for you!

Robbie - great-looking chart and BD line for you too! I could never keep it up for that long.

Ebree - hang in there! I hate hate hate the end of the 2ww. Despite my history of BFN after BFN, somehow I always still have this faint hope at the end, and get crushed all over again when the cramping/spotting etc starts.
Lysser - I''m sorry to hear you''re not doing so well, though it''s not surprising. I took one whole day off work after finding out about our loss, so I could lie around at home watching movies and sniffling on the couch, since I didn''t know how I''d be at work. I didn''t want to head in and be crying on people as I was doing their GA... I was pretty grumpy and upset (more than later on) when the cramping and bleeding really got going, cause it just kept really bringing it all home. Packing away the mat clothes I''d already bought (major sale at Old Navy) sucked, as did the rest of it.
DH took good care of me though, as he hadn''t been as excited as I''d been, and he''s not so emotional either. Of course by 8.5 weeks, he''d started to wrap his head around the idea that he''d be a father, and had even made a spreadsheet of the timeline of what had to happen before baby, and had looked into baby carriers and other stuff too. It was pretty sweet. At least since the loss he''s been 100% on board with TTCing, and also is sad each month when we get another BFN. It''s nice to have more support at home, cause the first couple years I was really on my own with the planning and worries. I hope you both can do some nice things for yourself and snuggle with your dogs. I think we got takeout sushi the night we found out (as a crappy consolation prize), and I seem to remember enjoying a 4-pack of bacardi breezers over the next few days.
No worries about being a downer, cause everyone''s here for support in the happy and bad times.

Peony - I dragged DH in to the hospital to DTD on call once (was usually quiet call on that rotation, and I had my nice private call room). Despite my best efforts, he just couldn''t get out of his head and get in the mood. Darn. I cannot believe you guys managed that BD line on a surgery rotation! Impressive. I''m going to be screwed come Oct-Dec because I''m going to be on 24 hour call 1:4 or 1:5. I hope they''re going to change the rules like they said they would, and will end up giving us a couple hours off to rest in the afternoon of the day we''re on call. That''d mean I could pop home for a quick visit with DH, since he''ll hopefully be working from home and not traveling so much. I''ll be annoyed if the new job means lots of travel, cause between that and my call schedule, we could be up a creek! Am I right in thinking that M4 is 4th year med school? I''m not sure what some of the terms are in the US. I''m a PGY5 here, which means post-grad year 5 (AKA final year!) - so I''ll be studying my a$$ off all year for the licencing exams. I''ll be lucky if I have time to do any TTC stuff. Hopefully I''ll get pg very soon so I can stop obsessing so much about it (and spending so much time on different bulletin boards), and just concentrate on work and studying.

Well, I''d better brush my teeth and get psyched up to work. I came rushing in at 8am today, only to find out that I could have slept for another hour, cause handover isn''t till 9am. Nice of them to tell me, wasn''t it?
Kate

Guilty - not only is it somewhat awkward but you feel ridiculous!

I''m going to try ''that position with the horrible name'' next time.

So, with temping, is ''high'' in relation to the coverline, or in relation to your other temps?

(one thing I did find out from my OB friend - over here the advice is that you can eat as much sashimi/sushi as you like, as long as the fish has been frozen to x degrees for 24 hours beforehand - which all sushi fish in the UK must be. You are advised to avoid mackerel because of potentially high levels of mercury. I had been wondering as I grew up in Micronesia where there was little other than fish to eat, and with no refridgerators we ate a lot of fresh, raw fish. Apparently the idea you couldn''t came about through something written in the first edition of ''What to Expect when you''re Expecting'' and since then people have just gone with the ''better safe than sorry''. Also the last two listeria cases in the UK were due to lettuce of all things...

5% is base rate - we''ve been superlucky and found a mortgage at 0.79% above base-rate (it''s a tracker), hence another reason I don''t want to lose it...

My LP is always 14 days.

Yup, M4 is the fourth and last yr of med school.
1.gif
PGY5 is the fifth year of residency here too! Are you in Canada? There are only a few residencies in the US that are 5 yrs long, so did that include a fellowship or did you do something longer like general surgery?

Morning ladies! Happy Friday!!

mela - ??????

Pandora - Sorry that you''re having such a stressful day. I remember when we were closing on our place - like you, all of our ducks were in a row, but it seemed like the bank just needed one more copy of this and one more bank statement from that month. but soon, you''ll be signing your name about a hundred time
20.gif
and you''ll own your home!! About positions, DH and I haven''t really been too concerned about maximizing pregnancy through the proper position, nor have i been lying around in bed for a half hour. hmmm. just more things to make the whole act seem so purposeful.

Fisher - congratulations!
36.gif
hope that the TWW is a quick one!

Robbie - whew! you and DH must be exhausted

3.gif
but that''s a mighty fine looking chart!

Ebree - I''m hoping that your cramps are just another example of a prego symptom being *exactly* like an AFF symptom. have fun at your DH''s party!!

kate - sorry that you had an early rise!

*****

Well I got a *peak* reading today at CD10. DH and I went out with friends after work and by the time we made it home just went to bed, but by this morning we had renewed enthusiasm
2.gif
however, i don''t have too much enthusiasm for another spotty cycle
14.gif

LittleL - I hate hearing that you''re going through a rough time. I hope that today is a little bit brighter and that you have all the support or space that you need!

Good morning.

I''m feeling a bit better today. I''m going to go downstairs and use the elliptical for a bit...I''m sure some exercise will improve my mood as well.

I felt kind of weird posting what I did yesterday...but I''m glad I did.

Thanks for your kind words, Pandora, Robbie, Peony, TGal, Snlee.

Ebree - I totally understand how you feel. I don''t think I''ll feel the unmitigated happiness I felt when/if I get another BFP. And that just totally stinks. You are definitely in my thoughts!!

Tiffany - I''m actually unemployed right now...Was a lawyer for 7 years...and currently, I''m a well, jewelry designer and trying to figure out what to do next. My parents are here visiting though...and my sister just moved back to the city, so we''ve got lots of stuff going on. I pretty much disengaged yesterday...watched bad movies all day.

Amber - I watched some ANTM last night...American''s Next Top Model for those not in the know...we had DVR''d the season opener...and I must say that seeing Robo-Tyra made me laugh...so that was good. My friend Terri stopped by as well...just to bring a bit of good cheer.

Robbie and Fisher - Congrats on the Crosshairs!!!! Now, get some sleep!

Pandora - I''m sorry about the fight with DH. That just stinks. I really think the hardest part of TTC is that when the TWW ends with disappointment (and I''m not saying yours is going to), you have the lovely and wonderful hormonal changes of PMS/AFF to also deal with. It is cruel, really. Oh, and we used the old Miss position...BUT I will say that I just couldn''t sit there with my legs up for hours...I think the longest I ever made it was like 10 minutes...and I got KTFU...so although it might help things a bit, you can totally get prego even if you have to disengage and move around a bit!

DRK - I totally sat on the couch and watched movies yesterday, a dog on each side of me! And I do agree that the bleeding and cramping really bring it home. I mean, I knew what was going on before that happened, and I certainly wasn''t holding out hope that the docs were wrong - but it just seemed sadder once it actually started. Feh. I already put the prego books away...And I am really grateful (perhaps that isn''t the word) that things ended as early as they did...DH is sad as well, but again, because it was so early, I don''t think he really wrapped his mind around it...

Thanks Lulu! My mom is having a bit of a tough time understanding why I need some space, but she is respecting it. I''ll be thinking good vibes for you the round!!

I''m glad that people are respecting what you need - i am the kind of person that would need some time alone to process what i''m feeling before reaching out for some loving support!

I''m just sneaking in here...can''t chat today, but I test and got a BFN this morning. I''m not worried. Tomorrow I''ll have more pee in me...and more strips to pee on. Stay tuned....

Mela, how many DPO are you?

Pandora "High" after ovulation just means "above the cover line". No matters if it moves around a bunch, mine did a lot, as do others, as DrK mentioned. In fact, if today was your lower temp it could have been that dip that occurs with an estrogen surge. Anyhoo, you are only 10 DPO, how long is your LP? It''s unlikely that todays "lower" temp heralds AFF if your LP is usually longer than 10 days.

I''ve got another 4 days to go as my LP is 14 days - my chart is on the last page. I have a dip - but not an implantation like one.

I had a HUGE row with my boss and shouted at him - then ruined it all by bursting into tears (not normally my thing). Anyway, he was very nice and I now have at least two people to help me at the Conference (including him).

I feel a whole lot better.
9.gif

Lysser - glad you''re feeling better. I totally understand what you are saying about it being preferable ending early - 8 weeks in or so must be so incredibly heartbreaking. My mother had an M/C at 12 weeks when I was 12.

Mela - keep POAS! I feel less bad about my addiction!

Good morning, Happy Friday to everyone!

Just checking in, saying hello.
I tried to respond last night, but my silly home computer won''t let me submit! Does anyone know why this is? I have a Mac...

Anyways, LITTLEL- I reallly wanted to let you know that I was thinking of you, and I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I was going to say that obviously nothing would really make it better but time, but sometimes I think you have to embrace the sadness, and let yourself be sad instead of trying to keep your chin up. Personally, I would put on my sweatpants, watch movies that make me cry, eat some pizza or sushi, and probably drink a bottle (or two) of wine. Something about music or movies that make me cry really helps. But I see that you are already taking care of yourself, good for you. In the words of Kanye, that that don''t kill you can only make you stronger. Big hugs to you. Oh, and aren''t doggies the best at cheering you up????

Mela- You crack me up. I like that you are taking the opposite tactic, by proudly declaring your certainty. You seem giddy!!! Good luck, I hope you are right. Sounds like you know your body, and I think your intuition is right on.

Robbie, Fisher- Yay for the cross-hairs! Glad you can take a two week rest (if you want) from all the B-Ding.

DRK- You are the champ of TTC. I admire your honesty and your determination.

Ebree- Fingers crossed!

Pandora- Aww, sorry you were having such a craptastic day! Sounds like you were justified in bursting into tears- women can certainly do it all, but dangit, sometimes we need a bit of help. But I have to say I love your Brit-speak- sodding Bank indeed!

As for me, I am still waiting to TTC. This is my first cycle off the pill, so I am just waiting things out, trying to let my cycle get back to normal. I am expecting a visit from the lovely AF- she''s a day or two late, but am not concerned since most people aren''t regular right away. Although last time I went off the pill, I was regular right away, but I don''t remember if it was exact on the days. I am totally crampy and grumpy though- just want her to come and get it over with, so I know my cycles are getting back to normal. But mostly b/c I am heading out to LA for a wedding and some pool time next week and I don''t want to bring her with me! Plus I need to get a bikini wax and can''t schedule it till I know. She''s a PITA already, and she''s not even A"F" F to me yet.

Doh. DD - I totally forgot to include you in my shout outs! Thank you for your kind thoughts!!! My brain is malfunctioning...

ETA - Pandora...not that I'm saying you are prego...but, if you recall, I completely LOST MY MIND at O'hare airport...sobbed like a baby. Which is totally not my thing...and I ended up being prego...I'm just saying...

CC - Thanks for the thoughts!! I really appreciate it. I went out and had crepes with my mom and sis today...am now back at home...it may sound weird...but getting out was good, but I'm happy to be home solo for a bit. I think I'll watch another movie...ah, the joys of OnDemand programming.

yum. crepes.

china - here''s to hoping that it never becomes AFF for you!

Hi guys!

Paul and I are leaving town for the weekend, visiting family. I''ll be taking my therm. with me, though! :)

I''m excited that I think I ovulated. Eeek! How many days does it need to stay high to not make the cross hairs go away?

I don''t know how long my LP is, since I''ve never temped and my periods are weird. I would think it would be longer than average, considering I may have O''d on day 19 and my average period has been 40 something days since coming off the pill.

I really have no clue.

I''m not sure when I''ll test, but definitely not next week.

:)

fisher, congrats on potential ovulation! I have long, irregular cycles myself, so I know how frustrating and disheartening it can feel. Keeping my fingers crossed big time that this is a successful cycle for you, in more ways than one!
9.gif

Fisher, try not to worry too much about what happens with your temps now. Remember that even in the LP they will vary, sometimes a lot, and may dip below the cover line for a day or two. No worries! I think that if tomorrow it dropped and stayed low for three days then FF might take away the cross-hairs, but no use owrrying about things you can''t control at this point! Have fun, keep recording and have faith that your body works properly!

Morning all!

Littlel, I''ve been keeping you in my thoughts, and hope you continue to find comfort.

DH and I weren''t really going to try this month, since it was my first month off the pill and I had just started learning about all this temping stuff, PLUS he is on an away rotation and I would only be seeing him 2 weekends out of the whole month.

WELL...my cycle did seem to be longer than usual, but I just started noticing some ewcm, very lightly on Thurs. and MAJORLY yesterday, and DH happened to be coming home yesterday, so we decided to take advantage of our situation.

HOWEVER, we still aren''t used to dtd without condoms, and I hadn''t had a chance to pick up some of that special lube (I forget what it''s called) for those ttc, so we ended up having to use some ky lube. It says that it is NOT spermicidal, but I''ve heard you girls talking about how any lube other than that special kind can be bad. Can anyone explain why to me? Do I still have a chance of getting a bfp this month?

Hope everyone who is waiting to test is holding up well, and those waiting to ovulate are dancing like crazy!

Lubes have a PH balance (acidicy) that apparently is hostile to sperm... but lots of women get pg using lube so don''t worry about it unless you know your DH has issues with his "boys", which he probably does not. So most TTCers avoid using regular lube, but in the ned it probably doesn''t matter at all!

Mornin''!

10 DPO and BFN.

I''m not even fazed.

Egocentric post today as I''m having friend for lunch so that our doggies can have a playdate. HEE!!!!!!!!!!
9.gif

...will keep testing until I get my BFP.

9.gif
Hope you''re all having a great weekend! Fertile wishes to all
35.gif

Mela, I''m 10 DPO too. Will be testing tomorrow morning.

Lovely- Hi cycle buddy!

Just thought I''d check in and see how you are doing. Did you get your egg on the monitor yet?

Hello and good luck to everyone else!

I''ve skimmed through everyones posts...this thread moves fast.

LL i''m sorry for your loss...

i should be ovulating sun or mon so the bd''ing has really kicked in to high gear
9.gif
.
the tww just stinks...last month i really thought i was preggo cuz i had every symptom like i had when i was pregnant with my ds. so this month i''m just going to take every ache and boob pain w/ a grain of salt. i only have 1 hpt left after i poas 4 times last month. i am telling myself that 1 is all i''ll use this month
20.gif
we''ll see
9.gif
.

dh is excited for me to be pregnant again. he keeps asking if my boobs hurt yet...lol...he is a typical male who thinks he has SS.

Hi amo4 - thanks for checking in! I had a *peak* reading yesterday and today, so I think that means that i o''d today.
36.gif
but i guess i''ll just have to wait and see what tomorrow''s reading reveals. have you ever had more than 2 peaks?

NYC - sounds like you are o''ing around the same time too. i''m finding that my enthusiasm is a bit more reserved this time around and i''m also going to try to wait and not test so early - though i guess you''ll have to check back in with me in about 10 days to see how that''s going
