I too am not a real marquise lover (too many bad 80''s busy settings have tainted my view of them) but I like these ones:

The first looks a lot like my pear 3-stone except a marquise is the center.

I like this one better. It''s with a champagne marquise center and trillion sides. This is the owner''s hand-shot, not mine!

Also want to say that marqmaddness - I think your stone looks gorgeous! Seriously one of the prettiest marquise stones ever. Is the stone set now or are you in process of choosing a setting?
