As I mentioned in my Rockytalky post here, I spent this Saturday morning in Los Angeles with Ari and Patty at Singlestone having the time of my life.

While I searched for my own setting, I got to see a vintage setting that Ari has been holding onto, waiting for the perfect stone. I have never seen something so delicate and lovely, and I didn''t want to leave it there!

I''m not sure what used to live there, but this beauty seems to be eternally waiting for a rose cut diamond somewhere in the 12.5mm x 9.5mm range. I would guess the right colored stone would be to die for, but can''t stop dreaming of the right enormous rose cut... I think it would be too shallow for any other cut diamond.

It''s one of the most delicate vintage settings I have ever seen. The platinum wire is fashioned into a lotus or water lily.... isn''t it gorgeous?

And the last pic of that incredible basket.

Does anyone have a large rose cut diamond I could borrow? Pretty please?

Isn''t it, Pixley? I was there for my own happy reasons, but couldn''t bear to watch that setting going back into the mounting box. I started to wildly dream up reasons it was a good idea to buy it and wait for a colored stone to come along....

Wow, I love that setting. It''s so delicate and dainty. You could also put a cabochon stone in it...

Lovely! If only it was a bit smaller and round; I just got a blue tourmaline that would look great in there.

OMG Wallermama that is absolutely devine. Did you buy it?

I''ve got an Umbalite Garnet still waiting to be set and it would look scrumptious in a setting like that ....... yummy yummy yummy!

Hi everyone!

I only wish that setting was mine. I was at Singlestone to get my OEC set, but as hard as I tried to stretch my OEC from 8mm long to 12.5mm long and oval, and shallow, it wouldn''t stretch and so this setting wouldn''t work for me.

I just wanted everyone to see it, and kind of like the puppy you see at the pound that you can''t have, I want to make sure that if someone has a long shallow colored stone or rose cut diamond that they get to chance to fall in love too.

I guess this is like how the first time I met my husband I thought, "Wow! He is great! I should introduce him to my friend." Which I did, and they did date, and it took awhile for me to realize DUH! I could date him too!

That setting has to be in the hands of a ps'er! You can figure out what to do with it later

Definitely a Rose Cut or OEC. It will look fabulous with a non white diamond too.

Wow. I''d get something custom cut for that baby!!!! (Likely something cheap until I could afford something pricier.)
