Holy cow!!! I just got on the scale and it screamed, "Lady! One at a time PLEASE!" Something's gotta change... Anyone want to join me in trying to be a little better while we're all locked in with our full fridges and locked out of our gyms? My commitment is 30 minutes of SOME form of exercise a day and I will make a list of EVERYTHING I eat and drink during the day. (Not saying I'll POST this list, but I will MAKE it!)

Anyone else with me?

P.S. - I do realize there's a Healthy Lifestyle thread in another section of this board, but I'm thinking we have more traffic over here in Hangout.

P.P.S. - This new initiative DOES NOT override The Daily Happy Hour Thread -- just to be clear! :cheeky:

I’m with you. As always :))

I just did arms (weights) and now starting myElliptical workout.

Go Dee!!!

ETA just cause I’m among friends and we’re in this together here a selfie while working out now. Scary but real
It’s hard to take a selfie of muscles. But take my word for it. The baby weights are helping.

I’m wearing my weight vest to do my elliptical.

Hmmm, can't participate in this one as I don't eat healthy every single day but I do walk and bike everyday. :lol-2:

Hi everyone :wavey: I definitely need to get back on track with this stuff again. After Christmas I cut out a lot of carbs/sugar from my diet and restricted my calories to 1200 a day. I did loose some weight, about a stone and felt much better in myself.
It has been impossible for me to maintain since post covid but I need to get back on track, and increase my levels of exercise as well. We have had far too much sugary high carb food in the house and I have the breaking strain of a wet paper bag! :eek2:Having Ehlers Danlos which is a connective tissue disorder my collagen does not work well so I need good muscle tone to support my joints.

I’m in. Pre social distancing, I used to do dance three hours a week...now I hike on the weekends, but I’m losing the tone which I had maintained through the dance, and I’ve been drinking more wine and eating more chocolate ... definitely time to get it together. I don’t even get on the scale...I can just tell:/

The really hard thing about this is that while I danced, I could eat well over 2000 a day, and ate whatever I wanted...thought little about it, just followed what my body told me, and when it told me (aside from awareness of healthy food) ...that’s not working so well for me now. I’ll definitely have to start counting calories, and maybe dancing at home, which somehow is not very appealing.

Count me in please.

@Bluegemz It's like a perfect storm, restricted movement out of the house, changes to food shopping..........then Easter chocolate to top it all off!

Oh good -- I'm so glad to see people joining in!

I've had my usual one giant cup of coffee (with whole milk and a little sugar... hey, you gotta live A Little!). So so far it's already 10:30 here and I haven't screwed up yet!

Off to do a bunch of work for a bit, but I'll come back later to report my transgressions. Ur... I mean, report in.

I’ll be the size of a house by the time this is over, despite mostly doing nothing, I’m eating everything in sight.

I’ll definitely be needing to exercise when we come out the other side.

I went running on Friday and ended up with shin splints on Saturday. JOY! Recovered today so I'll go slower this evening.

Lol this is so timely. We literally have an amazing home gym, but I never use it, and dh hasn't been either. His friends started to offer to buy the equipment off him, so he's started to use it more now lol. We're definitely committed to working out, doing a "hard" workout 5 days a week, and making sure we go for at least one daily walk (our normal route is only 20ish min, so its very easy). We haven't been eating that badly, just OVER eating lol.

I'm right with you, @Dee*Jay! I started the Covid-19 Health and Beauty Makeover a while back (January), mostly as a response to being so very unwell last year. I'm still fighting a horrible, chronic disease (Crohn's), but I'm thinner by a bunch and exercising regularly.

If I could now just get my gut to toe the line, I'd feel fabulous. As it is, I feel exhausted - but not *as* exhausted as I could have done had I still been doing what I was doing previously.

So count me in!

Random food report... today I have eaten:

- A piece of left over ham from Easter lunch.

- A can of Progresso minestrone soup.

- 1/8 of a dark chocolate candy bar

- A little bowl of baby carrots (in lieu of the other 7/8 of the candy bar that I REALLY want to eat, but since I only have two of them I'm trying to stretch them as long as possible and only eat one "row" a day)

At 5 pm I am going for happy hour with a VENGEANCE. The project I had expected to make HUGE progress on today has thwarted me at every turn.

HI:

Walked outside for an hour today. Not too busy.

cheers--Sharon

It's past 5PM here and I posted a little something special for you in your cocktail thread. Hope you enjoy. Just what you need after your long and challenging day. It will take the edge off. Completely.

Hey Dee*Jay, make up your mind.
Do you want me to stay healthy, or drunk? :lol-2:

Kenny,

I respectfully refer you to the PPS in my first post above:

Whew!

LOL! :lol-2:

I actually somewhat got a workout WHILE getting tipsy yesterday!
Haha

I never drink really although I always want to. Any wine that I buy just sits there until I come to the realization that I wont drink it and then I give it as gifts!

BUT yesterday my sweet man was making French beef bourguignon and we had a good amount of red wine left and he poured us both a glass and we watched trashy 90 day fiance until our child inspired us and we all created a huge fort out of furniture and blankets.
Yes I broke a sweat making that darn fort on Easter. Please dont judge me!

It was so much fun!
Wine+making a fort with your child....just do it!!

& Yes I have probably gained 2 or 3 pounds but my body does that normally. I fluctuate rapidly by about 15 pounds within one or two months. My honey never knows if he'll get me with the smaller or large tatas lol.
I dont really go by numbers on the scale though but more by how my appearance makes me feel.
When I'm heavier my soul and mood seems to follow as well and feel just as blah.

It doesnt help that somehow staying indoors is making me more exausted than usual?!?

I agree. Staying inside is exhausting. I think it's because we aren't getting the sun on our skin and getting fresh air. We need the sun to regulate our circadian rhythms which regulates our moods, our sleep schedule, our energy- to name a few things. Spending time outside helps relax us and rejuvenate us all at the same time. We aren't built for staying inside all day. But it is only temporary and I keep reminding myself of that.

OK so far today is going well.
Overnight oats for breakfast
A light lunch, apple cheese and unsalted nuts
Tea is chicken, brown rice and roast veggies.
No sugar in drinks, been for a long brisk walk and moved all the Easter chocolate out of my eyeline! :mrgreen2:

Checking in.

@Niffler75 good start!

I had my morning coffee and banana and butternut squash soup and enjoyed morning reading and posting on PS.

I am about to begin my workout. Weights first then cardio then Pilates. Today is leg day as I did arms yesterday.

Cmon everyone we can do it!

Just coffee with a touch of fresh cream. Now to look for breakfast. Most likely chunky peanut butter on whole wheat bread.

OK I just ate spinach with avocado oil because I took a supplement that needs fat to be absorbed. Now I am ready to start my workout. In a few minutes as soon as I digest this. I might be procrastinating. Must motivate myself to get my morning going.

Happy Tuesday kids!

I'm not going to confess to all the other random stuff I ate yesterday afternoon.. but at least I ate LESS of it than I have been, so I'm calling that a win!

Today so far I've had coffee and then lunch (left over ham and mashed potatoes). Wasn't hungry earlier than that, so no breakfast. I just took the two open cartons of ice cream down to the basement freezer (to join the two unopened cartons... ) because I'm hoping that if it's not right here at night I won't feel compelled to have a bowl.

On the exercise front... well... I didn't exactly get much in yesterday. Somehow I was sucked into a work thing that I finally stopped doing around 10 pm. Today though -- hope springs eternal!
