My girl has very poor time management skills so I’m typically not in the chair at my appointment time, which I can handle, but leaving and having to come home and wash my own hair is a less than stellar experience. Next time I’ll just be more clear. It worked in my favor today because I had plans after the appointment (plus it’s less expensive for a dry cut) but I’m incredibly mad at myself for not being able to speak up.

Don’t beat yourself up over it. You’re just a nice person.

I need to jog. I find jogging boring even with the iPad on. I'm trying to increase the speed as much as I can without falling off so I can get it over and done with.

I have to jog though because I am really sure it's responsible for holding my butt up but it's so so so freaking boring.

I cannot stand corned beef and cabbage. Fatty meat cooked in its own juices so even the lean parts taste fatty, with overcooked vegetables also steeped in the fatty juices.

EEEEYUK!

My apologies to all the CB&C lovers out there.

My husband is a CB&C traditionalist - and the primary chef in our family - so that’s what I had to suffer through last night. Fortunately he’s more than willing to eat the leftovers without my help.

I’m feeling sorry for myself since I had dental implant surgery today. Normally, this wouldn’t bother me since I have a high pain tolerance ( pushed out 2 9+ lb babies with no epidurals ) and try not to complain. But this is my second go around on the same tooth because the first one failed which is extremely rare. After 8 months ( tooth extraction, bone graft, implant put in ) my dentist, who is also my good friend, was going to prepare for a crown and the implant loosened up and came out. So now I’m going through it again and I forgot how much it hurt.

Piper70- I just finished an implant that took about 10 months. I know what you are going through! I am no stranger to the dental chair…root canals, extractions, braces, oral surgeries, all types of crowns, fillings etc. All my life I have had serious dental issues. But nothing prepared me for the implant process. I needed the cadaver bone transplant so every month I would have to go in and the stitcheswere removed, more digging, checking, more Novocain shots on roof of mouth, X-rays. And $$$$. This was only one tooth. Needed the flipper as it was next to front tooth which hurt like Hell and the edges were cutting my lip. $250 for the flipper which I hardly wore… thanks to COVID masking requirements at work. Finally got my tooth which looks fabulous and I am very happy. But I do have slight PTSD now when I go to the dentist. I really feel and understand your pain and frustration. Hang in there!

F*#k cancer!!! Trying not to cry as I decide what to make for a friend and his family. Thrilled to see so many hopping on to help with the meals, but knowing it will likely be the last I ever make for him is hard. Hospice and terminal haven't been said yet, but the survival rate of this type is exceptionally low and non-existent when metastatic.

An emotional day...

Went to the funeral of a volunteer of the local charity for homeless and vulnerable people in the local areas that I support earlier today.

He started off as one of the guests of the charity, and became a volunteer later on.

He looked after tea and coffee making duties for the Friday sessions that I attended as a cook or kitchen helper.

He loved food, and I always gave him the first plated food to see if he would like it, and he always did.

He was cheerful and helpful, with a cheeky twinkle in his eyes when he smiled.

Although he was outwardly cheerful, he had mental issues, and decided to take his own life and succeeded the second time.

He did not have any next of kin, and the charity was granted next of kin status. A crowd-funding was started to raise funds for his funeral.

I was in bits the moment the priest started to talk about the misconception that those who committed suicide are not welcomed by whatever that is up there.

The service was very moving and thoughtful, with eulogies from those who knew him well at the charity including the guests.

It was also well-attended as he was involved in a number of other charitable organisations in town as well as the church where his funeral was held.

I was pleased to see so many people came to his funeral, to celebrate the life he had, and to remember him as he was. It was a good send off.

R.I.P..

The doctors discovered a growth on the side on my BILs face (the side that he hasn't had prior surgery on). He has an appointment to go see his doctor tomorrow. My sister was supposed to go with him, but she just tested positive for Covid today :cry2:

And one of my DD's good friends, who is 14, was just diagnosed with a brain tumor. Pathology comes back this Friday. This boy is the nicest kid :(2

Professional jealousy is difficult to watch and even harder to be involved, as experienced by one of my line managers.

I made my decisions on how to progress with my career, and shied away from managerial roles as I know I am not very good at people management.

I concentrated on being a specialist in my line of work, and not to pursue/climb higher levels on a corporate fruit tree. Hence I decided to work as an independent contractor/consultant.

I don't want to be labelled as someone who has been promoted beyond my capabilities.

I believe I may have tonsillitis, and cannot get a GP's appointment for over a week!

Not my intention to lose weight this way, however, it is painful to swallow and it is affecting my appetite.

I shall take painkillers to ease the pain in the hope it will go away on its own accord.

I have a cold since Friday 17 March 2023, not Covid as confirmed by 4 LFTs since then, and am still having some of the symptoms like a runny nose and a dry cough.

The pain the throat increased in the past 2-3 days or so.

I hate being ill!

Ouchy!! Home in a cast after ankle/foot surgery to repair previous bone harvest damage. Not being able to walk is really not fun. Especially when my bedrooms are upstairs. Next house is a ranch. I ain’t getting any younger!!
I will say this scooter helps a lot!!
For the first time in my career, I’m not saying ‘I’d rather be at work.’ It’s been a rough school year. /rant

Poor you @Slickk, hope you’ll soon be back to full mobility, you’ve had a very rough trot (no pun intended) health wise.

@Slickk Yikes! Sending all sorts of healing "dust" your way. And maybe one you're a bit more "up", you can keep ahead of Bear on your knee scooter--drag race him around the block.

Many thanks @Austina after this, I would love a soak in your new dreamy backyard addition!! Haha!

@SparklieBug thank you so much!! Haha! When I brought the scooter home the night before surgery, I was scooting around and Bear came around the corner and we collided. So it’s taken him a little time to get used to it and the crutches. But he’s having fun now chasing after me as I circle the house!! gotta make fun when you can. Lemonade out of lemons…yes? :cool2:

Get better soon, but I'd keep the scooter after I was mobile. It looks like fun....

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I'm trying to clean our freezer out to pick up local beef. The freezer has been unplugged and standing open for three days now and it is still a block of ice in there! I even have the garage heater running to keep the garage at 75! Running to get our heat gun now to see if I can't melt this block into submission. Beef pick up is today... :wall: :wall: :wall:

ETA: the frozen section is about 10" deep and only over 2/3 of the bottom so it isn't like it is the entire chest.
