Preliminary design:
Classic tri-color Obama profile on the front
''I need a change'' on the butt

LOL, you should open up an Etsy store for that!

Iowa to Obama
Utah to McCain

Yowzahs, just got in from working a polling place all day, a 15 hour shift. My precinct went almost 4 to 1 against McCain and overwhelmingly for Obama. It was touching to see how many people who had never voted before got off their butts for a variety of reasons. It seems like the income tax is staying, (yeah reason!) marijuana is decriminalized in small amounts with overwhelming popularity, dog racing has ended...and John Kerry and Barney Frank are still in office. I have so many awesome memories from today, I really suggest that everyone work an election at least once. You meet your neighbors and see exactly how things work. I need to add that Homer Simpson and Ron Paul tied with five write in votes and Senator Clinton had 3 for prez. Know that if you write-in someone who is not running, the poll workers are laughing at your futile insanity. I normally drive and canvass in NH for dems, but this was really interesting. Our precinct normally has about 500 reporting, we had almost 1,500 and this is not a big precinct.

I''m no mathematician, but it seems there''s no realistic way McCain can win this.

NC and VA are seriously making me chew my nails down to the quick.

I thought that when I looked at the electoral map pre election day.

Obama''s now ahead in NC also! FINGERS CROSSED! I want MD, VA and NC for Obama!

SO nervous about VA. I lived in VA for 5 yrs. Vote in DC now, but tonight at the tavern I met so many Virginians who voted for the first time in VA just so they could vote for Obama (I''m talking people who voted absentee in their "home" states despite staying in the DC area after college/grad school). I feel positive.

i''m diggin'' all the blue!

OK, confession time... i bought a bottle of champagne on the way home from work
31.gif
Hold on that to the champagne Charger...I believe it will be a close race for prop 8.
i''m hoping to celebrate two victories... but i''m not that confident yet.

do you know of any initial prop 8 projections for now? i should check one of the local websites, or switch to ch11 (Fox) as it seems to be the only local station covering the election right now.
Just saw it on local nbc. They are saying the same people voting for Obama might be the ones responsible for passing 8.
THANKS TGal. i''ll keep an eye on it.

Threadjack: can anyone explain the whole donkey vs. elephant thing?
It was a cartoonist in the 1800s. He is the one responsible for what we think santa looks like and the famous picture of uncle Sam. He had been drawing the dems as a donkey for years when he did one with a republican elephant and the party latched onto it

Yeah, it''s not that much more informative. VA is at 82% reporting... I don''t know enough to guess one way or another. I wish the NYT map would give some data about the population sizes of the unreported counties.

CNN.com isn''t bad! You can see county by county but I don''t know if it says populations...

Good for you Swimmer!!!

I was super involved up until today (staffing hotlines, drafting voter manuals etc) ... just knew I wouldn''t be much use today because I''ve been on pins and needles. I was perhaps most involved in the primary races, because I knew that if voters who were trying to vote for the first time in 20, 30 yrs, felt disenfranchised, they wouldn''t bother showing up at the polls today. This has been a long time coming, and I feel so energized!

Basically, just wanted to say thank you for volunteering so much time today!

Stupid question - has PA always been mostly Dem. ?
