I started learning about diamonds a couple of months ago because I wanted to get a really nice stone for my wife for Christmas. I’m fortunate enough to live close to Corey and after speaking to him on the phone and thru emails I went to Midwest Gems and looked at some stones with him. I chose a .757 AGS 0, id, id, id, I color VS1 clarity. Depth 61.9%, table 57%, crown angle 34.4º, pav angle 40.8º, cutlet pointed.
I set this up to be a surprise to her a few weeks ago when I had a day off from work. I met her at her office for lunch and walked into the office with a single red rose and this note.
This year I have no gift to bring.
Neither golden necklace, nor diamond ring.
Yet what I have I freely give of this but simple thing.
My every breath; wrapped in my every thought.
Tied with ribbons and bows, spun from every beat of my heart.

So this Christmas when the December winds blow
Bringing with them cold and snow.
There is one other thing I want you to know.
As long as I can look deep into your eyes;
Or cause a smile to flicker upon your face.
I’ll be forever lost in your embrace.

Needless to say she was very surprised and happy. This diamond just dances in any kind of light. I’m no expert but I have never seen a stone with this much fire. So thanks again to Iceman and all of you for this site and all the info and help.

Wow, this is a great story! The diamond isn't that bad either...

Thanks. I should've started my first post on PS with "hi all". I guess that I've been lurking for so long it felt like home. So a belated Hi All. I hope that this year is the best of your lives. I had the ring made with emeralds for side stones. Green is my wifes fav color but more importantly it is the school color for our local HS. Our son played football there and was fortunate enough to play on their back to back state championship teams. At first she wasn't sure about the side stones but now says she wouldn't change it(the ring)for anything. This is a really great site and I'm sure that you all have helped more people than you all realize.Keep the info coming

Too sweet, you're a good guy.

Very nice!! I love the poem, it's very sweet....who says chivalry after marriage is dead?

Its a rarity to have an educated consumer walk in your store. It made the whole process easy. He understood what I was talking about and I understood what he wanted. The ring was so beautiful, why other people dont demand an ideal cut is beyond me. We put the ring together in the last week of our busiest month. No matter what pressures the day gives you, the extra attention to detail last for ever and is worth the extra mile.

nice poem! Romantic day. post pics please! I love eye candy.
