Yes they are durable, especially if you go with 1.8mm+ in shank width. If you use a very competent setting (LM certainly qualifies) and melee diamonds at least 0.8 pointers I don''t see a serious problem with melee falling out.Date: 4/11/2010 9:31:22 PM

THANK YOU SO MUCH everyone! I''m in Love with the ring and I really love the crispness of D color. My previous stones were H and I, so difference is huge!!
I guess I''ll see how I like the setting as is for a few days and see if I like to keep it this way for a while. Does anyone know if the LM''s pave are pretty durable? I wonder if the melee stones may fall off pretty easily, and I don''t want to send the ring back and forth to him everytime that happens.....![]()
I regularly ultrasonic and steam my wife''s pave ring without a problem along with many other familiy members'' pieces.
I think that stone is absolutely magnificant and I think it was a bold move for rhino to accept the risk of such an expensive piece into his inventory. I am pleased for you and for him that it worked out so well as that is truly one of the most fantastic antique cushions I have ever seen.
I think you have fantastic taste and a Leon Mege basket setting no matter what you choose will look gorgeous, take your time and see how you feel about wearing the current setting.
