Of the first two I strongly prefer the cathedral.

OF all the options...it''s a tie for me between the first cathedral and the roscoe/solstice combo. I don;t care as much for the one you posted at the end.

So, I guess of all the ones you posted, 100% the cathedral.

Of all the ones posted so far, I prefer this one.

I am not a fan of either of the ones you posted. I don''t like that the Cathedral is non-returnable, more money AND you would need a new band too....it would be one thing to be non-returnable if you loved the setting and it was custom...but not in this case!

I am not a fan of the prongs on the second, but I have never been that fond of that style to begin with.

I much prefer the solstice head!

Even though it is a temp setting.....a setting to me makes all the difference in how the stone appears. I would definitely not encourage you to *settle* even if is a temporary setting as if it drives you crazy....you may start to pick apart the entire ring (stone included) if it bothers you!

Continued thread jack - some people are so bizarre. I have a sapphire e-ring, and never had comments like that. I wonder what would happen if I showed up with a diamond one day!?!

Sounds like maybe she was reacting more to the "change" of the ring itself? Maybe she assumes it is like a mood ring - on days you are a little ticked that DH forgot to put the toilet seat down (which you only realized as you sit down in the middle of the night) you wear the sapphire....on days he rubbed your feet and made you breakfast in bed you wear the diamond?

I really like that one Bella! See, trouble is that I don't have time to order something from elsewhere, it has to come from one of BGDs suppliers and even then I am pushing it.

Or this one: http://www.uniquesettings.com/product/view/12944 which is the actual one I am thinking of ordering for Option 1... it is hard to find accurate pictures working with casting companies.

then 100% get the basket setting from unique, I''m sure Brian will make the prongs as delicate as possible and it will be lovely. You know you love a good basket setting I do too!

Unique Settings of NY has solid workmanship and I think you''ll be really happy with this as a temp setting (even if it ends up being a long-term temp thing

I think the basket setting has a more high-end and slightly more unique look than the four prong tiffany (plus I just don''t care for that setting. I prefer the 6 prong of that over the 4 prong, but even then, IMHO this basket setting wins hands down--I only like the more expensive and fluid tiff-type settings).

I hope that you decide soon b/c the suspense is killing me, and I really want you to be able to pick this up on your trip to the States

I, too, like the roseco setting. In fact, that was the setting of my original ering. I got the 3mm comfort fit, and it was extremely comfortable to wear. The height was also ~2mm, so that should match up with your dream band. Could that be an option for you?

I don''t think so, I am just not loving 6 prongs and DH really doesn''t like them, strangely enough. I did not think he would have an opinion about this at all! haha

Your diamond is HUGE and I''m sure that your ring will be beautiful in whatever setting you choose. I believe that your diamond "alone" will take center stage and the setting will probably not even be noticed. After all, with the sparkle that will be coming off that baby, everyone will be blinded anyway.

Just as a note.....I preferred the 1st setting. AND PLEASE

I hope your not second guessing your J colour choice as I''m sure it''s white and gorgeous!
