We really need ASET images, and photos of the diamonds which include magnified ones to be able to help. Also Idealscope images may be useful. It is difficult to judge fancy shapes by the numbers, so the above aids would be very helpful. Also if these are with an online vendor, you need their expertise to advise you on the visibility of any bow ties and also " eyecleanliness" of the diamonds as they are SI clarities.

See this thread for info on ASET

One set of stats is for my stone that was destroyed. One is for what we''re considering replacing it with. I''m holding the new stone. I''m just not sure whether I want to keep it.

Doesn''t anyone have an opinion on the two stones? I''m not asking for a definitive answer, but something, anything. It''s so hard for me to compare them.

I am sorry that I can''t even give you a maybe answer. Without a magnified picture (to see the facet patterning), Idealscope or ASET, the diamond could look like anything. Think about it - a diamond has some 50 odd facets total but here we have only information table and depth %. Nothing on crown height, pavilion angle, crown angle, table facets, etc. I have no idea if the oval even has a bow tie, where the inclusions are, how eye clean is the SI2, etc.

Hi ChattyCat -- I''m sure someone will be along to assist you momentarily.

I would love to help but I don''t know much about ovals at all other than thinking that they are lovely.

Also, I really like the color/clarity combo you are working with ... SI2 is a really great choice and bargain providing that the inclusions are not visible.

Good luck. I''m sure one of the oval pro''s will share their opinion shortly.

Have you tried searching "oval" info in PS ... You might find more info there.
Also ... I found this link re: ideal oval specs when I was researching info for my own diamond. Maybe this will help to point you in the right direction.
