I really like this stone but I wanted to get some feedback on it since it is expensive and well, I want a nice diamond- it doesn't have to be the nicest, but a nice one. I know a K isn't going to be most people's choice here, and I was originally looking for a J but for some reason, I spur-of-the-moment ordered this stone on a "feeling." Honestly, I think it's beautiful but the body color is brown, not yellow- and after B2C told me that and I've started researching it, it looks like people don't think very well of them and consider them to be for "mall jewelry." The HCA score is also kind of low- 3.7. Basically, (and I know this sounds silly) I like it, but I'm worried about what other people will think about it- like if they'll think I got a "cheap" stone or turn their nose up at it.

In real life, I don't see it as brown at all- a tad bit of peach sometimes from the sides. These photos are the most color I've seen out of it. Also, it's going to be set in yellow gold and it is for my engagement ring. I've read a decent amount of information on here, but I would really appreciate some more knowledgeable opinions. I've attached links to the stats and (crappy) pictures I took with my iphone below.

I prefer diamonds with a hint of color-I think they have more character. If you love it, go for it.

here's my two cents... very strong fluor. good and/or bad- the flourescence can whiten the diamond. However just make sure there no hazy/cloudiness to it bc it tends to be found in very strong level. (very rare but can be found in very strong ones). the proportion is not ideal but its good. not bad at all. It the inclusion eye clean? Usually in larger diamond the inclusion can easily be seen. How much you paid for it? I can help to calculate and see if the price is right for the diamond. =]

I myself have recently discovered the beauty of K's and went through the same things you are thinking and had a lot of PS'ers tell me not to get the one I fell in love with. Mine looked spectacular in person, but PS'er didn't like the proportions & HCA so I am still on the fence. I think if your K is well cut with good proportions and you love it you can't go wrong. It looks beautiful in the photos!

If you like the diamond that is all that counts!!

It's a little hard to tell the diamond's body color in those pictures because of the peachy lighting environment where you took your photos. What about a daylight shot? Many people have been setting diamonds with brown body color in rose gold to bring out the pink/peach tones. You may find that a YG setting highlights a brown-yellow tone that you aren't a huge fan of (or, maybe, it highlights an AWESOME yellow-brown tone that you LOVE!). Try admiring it next to yellow gold, since that's how you plan to set it, in a variety of lighting environments. Be sure to check it out in full sunlight as well, in case the fluorescence is awesome (or awful). But most importantly, you say you love it, so as long as you do due diligence in making sure you love it everywhere, well done you for finding a fabulous stone!! :D

Thank you, I will definitely take the stone outside when we get a sunny day to check it out out there.

It looks very nice, congrats!

Don't worry about the HCA score, it looks fine in the pics, and GIA numbers are too badly rounded for much use with HCA. Using a percentages, or a combo of percentages/angles, will give you an HCA score between 2 and 3, which is very acceptable.
