Hello!

I am considering the following round brilliant:

2.05 carat
F color SI1
triple excellent
crown angle : 34.0
pavillion angle: 41.0
table: 59%
depth: 60.5 %
medium girdle
no flour, no culet
measurements: 8.19-8.21 x 4.96 mm

Does it sound like it has good proportions and will be sparkly? It''s not labeled "hearts and arrows" but under the hearts and arrows-scope, the hearts and arrows look pretty good..all the hearts look even and the arrows all look symmetrical. I was told GIA doesnt label diamonds as hearts and arrows...so could this stone potentially be a hearts and arrows even if it isnt labeled as such? I dont know if I would go through the time, money and trouble to get it graded as a hearts and arrows by AGS or whoever does the grading for it. if this isnt a hearts and arrows, is it still a good stone based on a the info above?

Thanks!!!

Proportion looks good. H&A, if you know what you should be looking for and it meet those standard, then it is good.

Only HRD grades if a stone is H&A.

Welcome emeraldem!

The diamond has potential, yes it could show hearts and arrows patterning but it might not have the perfect patterning of the h&a stones as we know them here, however if you aren't concerned about that its no problem at all. If you do want a h&a diamond then I would suggest looking at the branded h&a diamonds with images provided, however not everyone wants a h&a diamond and it isn't strictly necessary in order to have a pretty stone.

I take it you have seen this diamond in person - did you check it was eyeclean also?

Yes, I have seen it in person...it IS eyeclean (would be a a VS if not for one inclusion, that u cannot see to naked eye) and very firey!! I just wanted to make sure you pros at pricescope thought the proportions looked good for the best performance!! I just learned about hearts and arrows, and know that to have that stamp pretty much means its a firey diamond that is cut well and will perfom well. However, if i can find a diamond that is as sparkly and brilliant, I dont HAAAVE to have the H and A stamp. =) I was just hoping that because I saw a hearts and arrows pattern that looked really clear and even, under the hearts and arrows -scope, that it potentially could be one!! ( I was comparing with a chart they had, of what was acceptable and unacceptable for H&A, and it really did look like the "acceptable" pic of hearts and arrows!) It really does sparkle a lot of blues and reds, which I likey!! Anyway, thanks for responding, y''all!

It is possible it could be a h&a but I would tend to think it is more of a ' near' h&a, it sounds like a beautiful diamond! The proportions look good, the table is a tad larger than some but that isn't necessarily an issue. One more thing, what are the grade making inclusions noted on the clarity plot such as feather, clouds etc?

Also you would probably find this article interesting reading concerning hearts and arrows from the tutorial listing,

The inclusions are one crystal around upper right going towards center and these rest are off to the side, small feathers. You really couldnt see em unless under a loupe...

Thanks, I was concerned in case there were clouds as the grade setters, in some rare cases with SI clarity grades they can cause a loss of brilliance so always best to check if that is the case, but that doesn''t apply here.
