I got this when my grandmother passed away in June...

With that said, I had a friend call it ''gaudy'' and another one said it looks very ''costumey''.

I was very

Oh my gosh, it''s sooooo beautiful.
I hope your friends made those comments before they realized it was an heirloom from a loved one. Never be ashamed of something so lovely, especially when it''s a memoir.

Striking ring!

I''m sure you''re grandma''s smiling on you...

Enjoy it for all it''s beauty and sentimental meaning...ignore the haters--they just wish they had a huge gorgeous diamond like yours!

Just beautiful!! And it looks perfect on you!

What a beautiful ring and the proportion are perfect!!! Let these hasty comments roll off your back, jealousy makes people hiss hurtful words. It''s nice to have something to wear that reminds you of someone you love... Wear it in joy and happiness!

It''s a gorgeous ring.
Ignore jealous people and just enjoy it.
I love family jewelry. i bet you remember your lovey grandmother whenever you wear it.

I do think of her-- every single day. It''s been extremely hard for me since she passed away.. I think there might be something wrong with me.

But, I wanted to hurry and get this project done so I could think happy things--- and it''s been helping!
swedish, I''m sorry it''s been hard on you since you lost your dear Grandmother, but I don''t think there''s anything wrong with you. We all grieve differently. It took me a long time to get used to the fact that my Grandmother was gone too. Try to be easy on yourself, you''re going through a transition phase. It will pass. Your mind will sort it all out, and in time your mind will cling to the wonderful loving memories of her.

You''ve created something extraordinary in your ring. Please don''t listen to the crazy things that people say. They just don''t know any better. You enjoy your gorgeous new ring. It''s fantastic!

Gorgeous! Your nails look great too!

Looks lovely!!!!

Last one for now! I got my old e-ring resized and appraised as well, AND bought two new Tiffany rings (the elsa peretti stackers) that I''ll share pictures of soon! Promise!

Did you end up getting the rose gold stacker??? Your ring is gorgeous--don''t listen to your friends. And what a lovely reminder of your grandmother.

I actually did go in and try the band on. Well, first the lady looked at me like I was nuts (then handed me a $17k band and an eternity 5 carat $30k band and pretty much acted like I should whip out cash because it ''looked so great'') anyhoo, I tried it on and was just not in love with it. The price I saw online was $500, the store one was $1150-- so I''m guessing I saw one that was bigger, thus the proportions were off to me. I plan on going in some time this week and might ask to see the thinner one :) So no, I didn''t get it (yet)!

Edit: and to be fair, the 5 carat eternity DID look amazing and great, but I am not planning on spending $30,000 on my wedding band (but that''s just me!)

I hate it when SAs act like they know better than you...but I guess it''s hard to beat a 5 carat eternity. Can''t wait to see your other purchases!!

Thank you for your kind words!
I know this is off topic, but I''ve been having weekly nightmares since about mid-June now about people passing away. It''s usually my grandma, but other people too, sometimes. It''s terrible, I wake up soaked in tears

The ring IS a great reminder. Everyone asks about my ring. It''s a plus and minus- I get to talk about my grandma then. Last night I went to get my nails done and of course everyone was asking about the ring. I got to talk about what a funny and great lady my grandma was :) So yeah, the ring brings up good memories!!

I just thought it was crazy that she acted like I should pay in cash, right then and there. The purchase I DID make which was just under $500, I wanted to make in cash (ahem, less T&Co paper trail
4.gif
) So I had to go to the ATM there and get money out. It wouldn''t let me take out more than $400 at a time, so I was actually laughing at while I was standing at the ATM thinking it would take forever to get $30k out... ooo plus tax! ;) haha

I was a little naughty and ordered two more items. The Elsa Peretti DBTY aqua necklace on a 20" chain and the bracelet. My thoughts are to get the diamond one as well and put that on the 18" chain (fat neck, apparently)

I honestly haven''t made many "frivolous" purchases lately so I guess I made up for before! I''m excited that I''ll actually have something to share here :D

SOOOO today is quite sunny out and I went and got another mani last night so I''m hoping to take a billion shots later today (when the sun is positioned juuuust right!)

OMG if this is what "Gawdy" is.. I want it!!! Its gorgeous. Its HUGE! And so beautiful. I think it looks spectacular on you and the side stones compliment it really well. I am with the others in that anyone that says this is Gawdy is just saying that to try and make themselves feel better as to why they dont have one like this.

As for your dreams, when my dad passed away a few years ago I had his rings (one gold WB and one ring with ruby center and two diamond sides). I held his hand holding his ring as he passed. To me that was such a special time I did not want to do anything with the rings but kept having dreams about it and eventually I realized he would want me to re-size them to be able to wear them. So what you have done here is continue to preserve your grandmothers memory which is awesome. I had dreams too, still do sometimes, but now they are much better and happier. Time will help, and any time I look at my dad''s rings it reminds me of him and it helps.

That''s nice to know I''m not alone ... I wasn''t sure what''s "normal" after losing someone. I lost my grandpa a few years ago, but my grandma is the first person I''ve lost that I was really close to.

People are just jealous.
It''s gorgeous!
Oh I totally agree. Jealousy is so ugly.

Your ring is gorgeous and a wonderful rememberance for your Grandmother. Pishaw to your so-called friends.
Amen! It''s lovely. Wear it and enjoy it with pride!
