TCW of band in relation to E-ring?

I have a feeling this has probably been discussed before, but I was wondering if there is any sort of ''rule'' when it comes to matching a band with the stone. I have a 1.71 carat engagement ring which I wear with my 3mm Tiffany-style etoile scatter band, which is my wedding ring. I would really like to put a full eternity channel set band in between the two (

) and find myself drawn towards the princess cut band as opposed to the round channel set, as I am not a big fan of the ''gaps'' that one can see in the round channel band. I have been reading the rave reviews of the facets collection and would be extemely tempted to buy from them when we visit NY later on in the year. So, dear pricescopers, what sort of size should I be looking at for the band - obviously, I don''t want to overwhelm my 1.7 diamond and also don''t want to have a band any wider than 3mm (my knuckles might hurt otherwise?!) any ideas??????

I forgot to ask.....does anyone else pair princess cut eternity with a round stone? If so, how does it look?

While my bands contain shared prong rounds, my center stone is similar in size (1.73) to yours and I have 10 pointers. Depending on the look you are going for, I wouldn't go any bigger than that. I recently changed both my setting and cetner stone. The setting had ~13 pointers, which kind of overwhelmed the 1.51 stone.

Your best bet is to find a local jewlery store where you can go in and try various sizes on to see what you like...


BTW, I purchased the Facets Duo 13 stone set and I love it! The quality is wonderful!!!
