Hi All,

I have been trying to find an oval cut 5-6ct tanzanite but it is proving harder than I thought it would be. My jeweller has come back with the following cushion cut but does it look a bit wonkie? Should it look a bit squarer? I have not considered a cushion cut but my first impression is that I like it plus it gives me a reason to get an oval cut in a different colour!

I can't see it till Monday but stats are 5.42ct and 9.8mm x 9.8mm.

Looking forward to your comments!

I'm a bit shocked that you're having difficulty finding a tanzanite that meets your specifications. It's the one colored gem that does seem plentiful and it comes in many calibrated and common shapes.

Did you try any online dealers?

Here's one near your size range after I went looking for fifteen seconds.

It is difficult to get all 3 stones to line up perfectly facing the camera straight on for photography so until you get the chance to see it in person next week, my guess is that the stone isn't sitting straight up, hence looks a bit off symmetry due to its tilted position.

I have finally found time to make a decision on the tanzanite and have had the ring made. I love the colour and the design.

What a gorgeous ring! =)

thats beautiful!!

So pretty! Worth all the work & waiting! I bet you can't take your eyes off it when you wear it.

What a beauty!! Do you have handshots to share?
The colour of the stone really pops

It's gorgeous! I hope you'll post more pictures of your new ring.

Another thread I missed until now. :o It is lovely - a substantial looking ring. Would love to see more photos especially hand shots when you have an opportunity. I'm glad the tanzanite looks like it is a bit protected by the prongs.

finger shot?!
a lovely setting!
well done :appl:

Thank you all very much - so nice to be able to share my excitement with the PriceScope community.

I will have post some hand shots over the weekend - back soon!

Very nice! Can't wait to see more pics!

Nice to turn a design into reality and see it come out so well.
Congratulations!

You know, you had me at your first photo of just the three stones. Have to admit that I've been struck by the half moon bug. Caught the fever and will be following in your footsteps hopefully soon. :))
