Tacori setting

I''m about to purchase a Tacori setting in the next few days and wanted one last opinnion on WG vs PLAT on Tacori. Has anyone had a WG ring with the mount and prongs in PLAT?? I am afraid of the ring yellowing but she advised WG is ok. The difference in price allows me to get a better stone. Still up in the air though. Help please

It''s all a matter of personal preference. I have a Tacori in all plat and would not want WG b/c of the yellowing. But if you can get a better stone than it may just be worth it. DH asked my preference while we went looking for ideas and I was adamant about having plat. Have you asked or has she brought it up?

WG will eventually yellow, but how fast, or not, depends on her body chemistry (could be every 6 months, or years). If she advised WG as an option, I would go wth that and get the better stone.

Platinum will develop a greyish patina over time. Some people find this attractive, some do not. Some people rhodium plate their platinum on a regular basis because of this. I think a platinum head on a ring is very important since if it's yellow gold, it's likely to need replacing every so many years. A platinum head will be sturdy for a lifetime. If you want to save $$, then just do a platinum head with a white gold shank. However, I don't believe Tacori does this.

Why would they do that, over just repolishing the Plat?
