What exactly does "Symmetry" really mean, for example, in a GIA report? In my case I recently purchased an Asscher (sq.cut emerald) from Whiteflash, using Mr. Sherwood''s advice, with a:
Depth: 68.1%
Table: 59%
But the stone (GIA) reports Symmetry: GOOD. So then the next question is how does the lab determine symmetry and how important is it compared to the proportions of the stone? Thanks for any insight!
BTW: What is amazing about Pricescope and the information given by its members is how you feel armed for battle when you enter your local B&M store! And after the initial dissapointment comes the sly smirk walking out of the same B&M store after figuring out you know more than the person behind the counter. Thanks to Pricescope and the astounding professional knowledge of its members.
Thanks again,
