Hi All!

I'd love to hear your suggestions for small, relatively inexpensive (less than $50) presents? Mostly for women.

I'm thinking L'Occitane, or maybe a pretty Anthropologie scarf. What do you all think?

Thanks in advance! :wavey:

One of my favorite reasonably priced items I love to give to girlfriends etc is a Coach wristlet. You can usually get them at the outlet stores for less than $30. Everyone always loves them!

I love the idea of a scarf.
I saw a cute idea where someone took a mixing bowl and put a few spoons and towels in it for baking.
Candles are always nice too!

What is a wristlet? TIA :wavey:

Candles! Not just because I make them for a living, everyone I know loves getting them.

Hi there! A wristlet is kind of like a little zippered wallet thingy with a little strap you hold onto. Makes a great gift! I always get the nice Coach box at the outlet too and these little wristlets are always a big hit! I actually lucked out a couple weeks ago at the Coach outlet and I got three of them because they were $19 each! What a steal!

That is a cute idea! I've also seen jars that are pre-mixed with all of the dry ingredients to make cookies, which is also fairly easy.

I like Lush products because they are fun, smell great and are not available everywhere. Also have done teavana samplers and/or a Starbucks gift card. Costco has a lot of gift basket options around the holidays. Whirley Pop popcorn popper and gourmet corn, sounds silly but everyone has really liked it. If they have a pet I've ordered gift items from their state's humane society or a cute handmade leash. If they are truly impossible to buy for I go to perpetualkid.com and order something really silly. I gave a soap dispenser in the shape of a nose with green liquid soap to a family member and it wound up being a hit because their grandkids love it and want to wash their hands.

I really like Pearl Lunar on ebay. I've given various pairs of their earrings, strands and pendants as gifts, and they're always a hit. The pendants only have CZ's, but for a cheap gift, they look great.

I usually bid at the last minute, and there's rarely anyone bidding against me, so I'm happy. Be careful that you buy earrings and not "beads" unless you are crafty enough to put together a pair of earrings. Actually, I've done that too, a sterling head pin, a french ear wire, a pair of needle nose pliers to twist and you're done.

They're all genuine pearls, and most are not dyed. They disclose if they are dyed (the black ones, usually).

I have a pair similar to this, and they're great, especially with business clothes.

BUT you will have to get your own gift boxes, or those little mesh bags, Pearl Lunar ships in plastic baggies. There are tons of gift boxes on ebay as well.

I love the idea of a pretty scarf, soft throw blanket, pretty mittens, if you do a candle...make it one of those diamond candles that burn down to reveal jewelry. They smell good, you get a trinket that *may* be a treasure. A basket made up with cool snack food from Worlld Market. Disposable fountain pens with a journal is always fun. I'm a list maker though. They have damask electric throws that are really pretty in black and white for $40 something.

I second the diamond candles. I have given them as gifts to my girlfriends and they loved them. They even wear the rings they found in the candles. They still talk about how fun it was to get the ring out and find out what they got.

I have a small co-op of local artists near me that has all sorts of lovely handmade gifts- painted notecards, scarves and such- both woven and hand dyed silk, and turned bowls and ceramics.

Anything like that near you? I find that I can go in with a budget, but not a specific idea of what to purchase, and I always find something unique and beautiful.

Update: I just purchased a few wallets from Kate Spade (they're having a 25% off sale)!

Aviastar--That sounds so lovely! There may be something similar around here--I'll have to do a little investigating!

I've checked out Pearl Lunar but never purchased--its good to know that they're good! They have some gorgeous freshies that I've been interested in, as well as silver-blue akoyas IIRC. It is so awesome that you put together a pair of earrings. I have been meaning to try out some basic jewelry making projects, but I haven't had a chance yet.

Makemepretty and Luv2sparkle--I hadn't thought of diamond candles, but it is a really great idea! Makemepretty--those are all really great ideas. I also didn't know that there are electric throws for $40; that's pretty awesome.
